Which makes this even funnier

You're better off not even attempting to throw a hit these days

OK and he got the instigator penalty. And Stuart didn't have to fight him

Yeah, was a perfectly clean hit. No need for a fight there and a dumb penalty. I do like the chipiness though. Perron got away with a dirty slash on zets so he better be ready for payback later on.

It looked like Stuart was grabbing/trying to grab at Stewart's face when he was being held down by the refs. Bit dirty.

Stuart knows he has to answer the bell. The point is that he shouldn't have to.

Who did Stuart "mess" with?

Hitting is a legal part of the game, last time I checked.

Looks like Stewart got off the bench to fight Stuart. I wouldn't put it passed Hitch sending him. Probably a suspension.

It does not apply
"A player who is involved in an altercation, when the opponent has been identified as an instigator, shall not be assessed a game misconduct penalty if his jersey should be removed by an opponent or an official in the discharge of his duties, regardless as to whether or not he was properly “tied-down” (jersey properly fastened to pants)."

Really St. Louis? That was a perfectly clean hit. It makes you look like a child who didn't get their way.

I'll let you guess. I also like you implying "mess" means "illegal hit."

The man didn't have a choice. Did you see Stewart? There was going to be a fight weather Stuart wanted to or not. So either he drops them and gives himself some type of chance, or just let Stewart pull his Jersey over his head and pummel him anyway.

The result would have been the same eithehr way because Stewart wanted a fight either way with, or without Stuarts permission.

Can I also call scoring a goal messing with the goaltender, too?

That will show them!

You got to be kidding me? It makes people think before they throw a huge hit or even a dirty hit if they know they will have to fight, which prevents injuries

Stewart, not the entire city/team is 'to blame.' It was a clean hit, but Stewart wanted to make a statement. It's just as childish to whine about Stewart looking for a fight.

Exactly. This has been happening since hockey became a professional sport so not sure why people are so surprised by it... has there been an influx of new fans?

Players fight after a clean hit because they want to attempt to deter those big hits in the future clean or not, or at least make the player hesitate before making it.
