Felt good to delete Gillies off there.

I like that just about our entire roster of 2-way players have been in the NHL as well.

Wellman picking it back up down in Housty.

Medvec picked up his first two points of the season. No longer sitting on the bottom of the list behind the goalies.

Wow Harvard is awful. They haven't won a game in months.

Seeler seems to be getting his feet under him lately.

Coyle...must be pretty good. 5g 1a in 4 games. Still like his decision. Get some confidence. Maybe he's a top 6 power forward after all.

He may have been talked about in the last thread, and if that's the case I'm sorry to bring it up again (or if you want to redirect me to a post or something) but how good is this Mario Lucia kid? Seems like he is scoring a bunch of points in juniors (yeah I know it's just juniors) but is he exceeding expectations?

Just basically asking out of curiosity. I know I'm new here and my post count is low (hello!) but have to start somewhere right?

Need to add Scandella to your AHL list now.

Speaking of, after a slow start (3GP 0G 0A +1) he's picked up 2 points in the past three games, a goal and a assist.

Wellman had a 3 point night with 2 goals and an assist to give him 4 points (2G, 2A) in 3 games since being sent back down.

Coyle seems to be putting the NCAA/CHL debate to rest. Obviously the competition is higher at the college level. It took him less than a quarter of the games to exceed his goal total.

It's hard to say with Lucia. He's a tall kid with great scoring instincts but he's playing in a really low league. Next year he will leap WAY up into D1 NCAA, which should really show things. He's had very little competition and adversity in his career.

Jarick, do you keep any of the stats from earlier in the season? IIRC, Seeler started something like 10 GP 0 G 1 A -13 or something else terrible like that. It would be interesting to see just how well he's played without the disasterous opening to the season.

I don't but yeah he had a very slow start, didn't have more than a couple assists by about 10 games in, didn't get a point for his first five games I think.

Looked at the USHL's website and they actually have a game log. Looks like his stats over the last 13:

0G, 8A, 8Pts, +4, 30PIM (had 14 in one game)

If we just get rid of his first 7 games (1A, -8) his stats are:

22GP, 2G, 11A, 13Pts, +2, 30PIM, 36 shots

1G, 4A are on the power play.

Since Phillips and Coyle are working out so well in St John's together, maybe we should trade for Huberdeau too and they can be our top line next year

Even better we can say that Huberdeau's stats are inflated because he played with Phillips and Coyle and REALLY tick off HFB kids.

Psh, I've been saying that about Hubby/Phillips since the day we drafted him.

We'd have to offer Granlund for Huberdeau.

Florida would never bite.

Realistically, who would trade a #3 pick for a #9 pick?

Can't wait until Colton Jobke debuts for the Aeros.

We'll have to get Coyle signed to an ELC soon since he's no longer college bound.

Wellman was awful for all but a few games he was with the Wild. I really liked him as a prospect but he's done pretty much nothing in the NHL to keep a roster spot. Extremely inconsistent work effort, not physical, doesn't score.

I'm curious; who do you guys think our best prospect outside of Granlund is and why?

I follow all our prospects as much as I can but I don't have the time to become all that familiar with them. I would like some well informed opinions on what we have.

Depends on the factors you use to judge. Which of our prospects (besides Granlund) will be the best at his own position? Tough to say, Brodin has the highest ceiling, but has a long climb. Hackett is the closest to elite, but it's hard to say how high his ceiling is. I think you have to narrow the question a bit, because I alone would have at least 4 different answers depending on the phrasing.

Fair enough.

In your opinions:

Which of our prospects will actually develop the most within the next two years in their respectable positions. Which forwards, if any, do you believe could be a 30g scorer or an exceptional playmaker? I'll not bother with d due to our lack of prospects aside from Brodin, and he is a bit of a mystery at this point.

IMO Brodin. He's likely to be a top pairing defenseman who can move the puck and skate it out of trouble (Lidstrom Lite). I think a guy like that could be on your blue line for 15 years.

My possibly optimistic projections as prime players:

Granlund = 30G 55A
Coyle = 35G 35A
Zucker = 25G 35A
Larsson = 20G 40A
Phillips = 30G 40A
Bulmer = 25G 20A
Haula = 20G 25A

When it's all said and done I wouldn't be completely shocked if Lucia ends up being the most prolific scorer of the lot...
