Flame suit: activated.

No way Winnipeg trades Kane for that.

Need to add. I'm thinking Little,Wheeler, and all of the picks are belong to the Flames.

But seriously, why does Winnepeg do this again?

Even after your change from Babchuk to Brodie the Flames are still going to have add Bartschi to get a conversation going.

No way that proposal gets the job done for Kane.

Lol. Jets say no in a heartbeat. Kane has been that organization's best drafted player since the lockout and has 60-80 point potential when he hits his prime (especially if the Jets surround him with a better line-up which I expect they will).

Typical scraps for gold HF proposal.

Value Isn't too far off. As an Oiler fan, I hate the Flames, but TJ Brodie is a stud. Just as a rookie he's become a top 4 defenseman with great skating ability and room to grow. Lance Bouma seems fairly, but in the recent weeks he has proven himself as a solid bottom 6 player, providing energy and creating scoring chances. Flames may have to add a bit, but not much. Maybe a piece like Stempniak (UFA)

As an Oilers fan, would you give up Jordan Eberle for that package?

It's not fair value for the Jets at all. Not even close.

Bad trade for both teams. LW is an area the Flames are really deep in with Cammalleri, Glencross, Tanguay, and Bartschi all in the plans for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, after Brodie, we have absolutely nothing on the horizon on defense. He has really come in and taken the reigns on. His skating ability and first pass is probably second only to Bouwmeester's. He's not a big body but very good positionally and has a very effective with the stick. He is on the cusp of being a top 4 defensemen and has a bright future on our blue line.

Kane is an excellent player but he doesn't address a need. We desperately need high end defenders and center prospects. Loading up on the wings without addressing our weakness at those two positions will set us back longterm. Giving up Brodie and a 1st rounder leaves us with nothing on the backend, and leaves us unable to draft a quality defensemen or center in the first round.
