Speed is exactly Zucc's problem, more than size. If he had wheels to go with his stickhandling, creativity and vision, he'd have that extra element that would make him a sure-fire top-6 NHL'er, if you ask me.

Great player, does everything right. We are lucky to have some good young guys but even young euros like Artie and him that are coming here and buying right into the system, its really exciting to see these guys develop the right way.

I think Zucc will get a shot at the NHL again, maybe via injry or whatenot because he understands the game. We will see though.

I think he's a lot more effective than Wolski... That's not saying much, though.

Rangers season really turned for the best when Hagelin and Mitchell were called up.

I caught up with carl after the game.

He said he didnt learn english watching the simpsons. but he did watch the show.

He said he worked for a friend at that private equity place. i asked him if wall street was in his plans later. He said he wants to do this (hockey) as long as he can.

Very nice person - gave me like five minutes after the game.

MZA is slow and his defensive game also suffers from this shortcoming which is like a kiss of death in Tort's defense first mentality. Even with some skating sessions during the summer, you didn't really see much improvement in that department for him. Injuries are hosing his chances this year as he was playing so well (made the All Star team despite his injuries and small games played count). You figure he still has a chance. When he is healthy, they will have him playing tons of minutes in Hartford and he'll be scoring at a ppg+ pace. (currently at 1.21 ppg)

He is apparently finding his way all the way to the All-Star game.

Well deserved for Hags. Would love to see him in the speed comp. Wish he would grow the molester stache just for the ASG though lol. Anyways, congrats to Hagelin!

McDonagh and the rest of twitter seems to think so...

I'm just excited to see fastest skater with Gabo and Hags.

This just cracks me up. When Tortorella was hired we were told that he was as far from Renney as possible... "safe is death." Now he has a defense first system. It just seems like the NY Rangers are always going to play a strong defensive game with no powerplay.

Yahoo is reporting it.

Also, Carl Hagelin of the New York Rangers has been added to the rookie pool as well. The NHL is expected to announce this afternoon which player he's replacing. In what we're sure is a completely unrelated story, the Devils' rookie All-Star Adam Henrique has been battling a sore groin.

Hagelin will be a beast along the boards once he gets stronger and bulks up a bit.
