Thank you. You've solved 2 nights of meals when I get back to LI.

Anywhere from the rink on the way back to 95 North for a good pizza pie? Nice thin crust. Thanks

La Focaccia in Levittown is pretty good. Good Italian food last time I was there.

Aji is good but since Fancy Lee opened up in Babylon (main street) ... They have the best sushi as well as traditional asian dishes in the local area.

Are you looking for american chinese food (take out) or real chinese food? Its a big difference.

There's a great family owned Pizza shop in Patchogue called BUCCI'S.

http://www.allmenus.com/ny/brookhave...8-buccis/info/

While I love Momma Lombardi's and miss the great places down in little italy,
this place makes the best local pizza in the patchogue medford area and they've been rated one of the best 10 pizza places on Long Island.

sometimes it's the little family run joints that impress the most.

not sometimes. EVERY single place that has GREAT food is a small family joint.

Living out of state sure sucks food wise. Can't wait to get back to long island in a couple months, A&S bagels and Umbertos pizza all week.

If anyone has not had A&S bagels, I strongly suggest you try it.

Bucci's is good, but my favorite now is Del Fiore Pizza Co. also in Patchogue. You guys should really check it out.

If you like sushi, or even if you just like Japanese food. Kotobuki is the place to be right off of 25A (Northern Blvd) under the Viaduct in Roslyn. Absolutely fantastic.

A must get: Tuna Pizza Appetizer. It may sound really gross to some of you, but its not a pizza, thats just what they call it. It is one of the most amazing dishes I have ever tasted. And the weird thing is I don't even like Tuna, but man this dish was incredible.

My favorites:

Sal's Pizza in Sayville
Any of the Meson Oles (We frequented the Bayport one often)
Momma's on 27A in Oakdale
We used to love El Dorado in Centereach, but I believe now it's a Buffalo Wild Wings
And as everyone else mentioned, of course Momma Lombardi's.

To the person who mentioned Frank Pepe's in New Haven- was Man vs. Food there? If that's the place I saw on TV it looked like it had some slammin' coal fired pizzas.

Another good pizza place I haven't seen mentioned yet: The Pie at Salvatore's in downtown Bay Shore. Great coal-oven pizza, especially the supreme and white pies. They also have a restaurant in Port Washington, but apparently it's a little bit different.

To deviate from all the Italian and Asian suggestions, check out the Jon Thomas Inn of Brightwaters for some great American fare. Get yourself a "world-famous" French Onion soup followed by an East End sandwich or 3/4-pound Super Burger and you'll have enough food for two or three meals

Seen a lot of mentions of Bay Shore, and that's with good reason. Tons of great food in and around, both small indy places and chain restaurants.

My favs are Peninsula (Japanese/Chinese), The Pie at Salvatore and Mulberry Street.
