Funny listening to announcers, night after night " rave " about Rinne, yet NO ALL STAR! something wrong with that picture!

Yes, was not sure till the end, but Yip landed a few solids towards the end and still had strength for the takedown.

Has Yip fought before? He looked pretty comfortable! Didn't know that was part of his game?

He's had a couple of fights. It isn't a big part of his repertoire.

34% at the faceoff dot so far. Ouch.

According to hockeyfights he only has two regular season NHL fights, and one preseason fight. I guess three regular season fights now.

takedowns mean nothing when it comes to winning a fight.. but id call it edge yip / draw .. wasnt that impressed with his fighting abilites. however just the fact that he can and will is a big plus in my book as whether to keep him in the line-up

Not up on fighting knowledge at all but, a left handed throwing against a right hander..... They are both throwing from the same side? Looked awkward for both parties involved.

yepp that's why it looked a little awkward. main thing you do in a hockey fight is lock up your opponent's strong hand. combine that with yip's inability to throw punches.. and you get that fight. (see tootoo for a strong fighter)

I was really just referring to having enough reserve strength at that point to keep leverage and angle. Even though I am not big into the fighting aspect, I know the takedown is not really important.

Good just to get out of that period without giving up a goal after the last few minutes.

Do refs EVER call that standing pick/screen the Hawks use so much to free the puck carrier? I mean, they are not even subtle about it. Shouldn't that be interference??

Just got home. Glad to see we are winning. I really really am glad to see Yip in instead of Smithson, even if it means smithson is hurt. This is the best possible lineup we could ice.

sorry that post wasn't referring to you

and you would think. usually on those pick plays, it has to be pretty blatant (knocking a player down) and sometimes that is called on the opposing team

I don't care about some negative facts that some like to point out. I don't care about all the little things. As Crispy says, the only thing that matters is the score. One more period guys!
