Hmmm, MIN 2nd plus Ferriero/McGinn is quite steep for an impending UFA, but I think it would be worth it. Problem is we'd need to shed some salary to fit Ruutu, I think.

All depends on when this hypothetical deal took place. At this point, we could most likely fit him in without dumping. Of course, if we could deal Niitty, too, we'd have plenty of room.

No on adding McGinn. Yes to Ferreiro but doubt he has value.

I think that's the starting price. Obviously, the price could go up if there's a bidding war.

IMO as a sharks fan, I wouldn't want to give up much more then that =/

[EDIT] but in saying that, I know DW, and futures is one thing he doesn't care that much about.

I don't believe anyone has really heard a rumor of the price Rutherford is asking. Many fans on this board have made comments about what they'd want (pretty much a range from a 2nd and decent prospect to a 1st round pick). I think that is based on previous rental signings and Rutherford's history more than anything.

In the end, the price will depend on how many teams are interested in him and who else is available.

Considering the past few pages, there's been a topic regarding Ruutu to the Sharks, Leafs, Senators, Blues, and Bruins, I'd say a 2nd and a prospect might be the low point. He's a guy that's going to get a bidding war surrounding him.
