I started the poll last year about Hank and a lot of people didn't think he would. Also to note, this year, it appears Pitt and Philly will be a BIG challenge for us so Hank will be playing more down the stretch IMO to win the division. No disrespect to Biron, but you'll start seeing Hank getting more starts as the season dwindles down and the team fights for #1 in the Atlantic and possibly the East.

Agreed, I think home ice would be a huge advantage for us in the playoffs.
Lol haha I remember those. Lundqvist was going through some sort of slump if I remember and some of the fans quickly turned on him and demanded trading him and have the younger and hungrier Chad Johnson take over.
Very much so.

Prince Chad
I officially predict he will surpass the King at some point.
We got a goalie!!!

Judging from the kids history at every level he's played at and his performance in preseason and his solid game last night, I think Chad can either become just as good if not better than Lundqvist in the near future. I'm just being honest here but I'm not saying trade Lundqvist right away...
Just gotta remember Roy/Brodeur started playing at 18 and what 20? Hank started at 24, even if he is beast mode for the next 5 years and good another 5 he will be hard pressed to ever break any of the records due to his late start.
If he doesn't it proves the league hates the Rangers
If he doesn't it'll prove nothing. The winner will have the better stats and obviously that isn't a "whole picture" scenario. In an ideal world he'd be a lock, at this point, for MVP.

Stats alone are how it's done but shouldn't be. Hank was a beast last yr and carried us... 11 shutouts? That's amazing. But they needs to consider everything, not just stats

I agree but I don't think it points to a conspiracy against the Rangers. You think the league wouldn't love to push Lundqvist as the Vezina winner? Great look, dynamic player, the chicks love him. He'd be perfect for them and they know it.
Our defense left him out to dry last night and he still got the shut out. This man is incredible with serious potential to go down as the greatest Ranger ever when it's all said and done.
screw the vezina give this guy the hart. I only see 2 legit Hart candidates right now, Malkin and Henrik.
Bingo. For a goalie to win the Hart he has to blow the competition out of the water. Lundqvist's performance down the stretch will have to be particularly strong. 10 or 11 shutouts with his current statistics will win him the Vezina. 13-14 shutouts () is what I honestly think he'll need to win the Hart. 12 is a toss up.

He won't win the Hart, but he will win the Conn Smyth.
Quick someone go make a jinx thread about how Hank's going to win the Conn Smyth in the playoffs.
He's on pace for 8 but I could easily see him getting to 10. Hank usually takes it to another level down the stretch, as does Callahan. Now will [hopefully] not being a bubble team poke at that a little? We'll see.

The only way I see hank/cally not toning it up is if the games don't really matter much anymore (eg. we're gonna be the 4 seed regardless of the outcome of the last 3 games).
If we have a solid shot at the president's trophy i fully expect hank especially to take his game up a notch, because he's a winner. Winners don't say "ah **** it, we made the playoffs". Winners say they want to be the best in the league.
