Brown + Bernier for Parise. Uh-huh. Team captain, signed on a really favorable contract, plus a super talented young goalie for a rental. Thefourthperiod should learn not to read the NY Post except for laughs.

Maybe we should claim Nitty and then trade him for a low pick? Is that legal?

In short, yes if we offer him for free to other teams who put in a claim first.

But I'm guessing the reason he's waived is because no team was willing to trade a pick for him.

Both of those TFP trades are trash. If either happened it would assure Lombardi is only interested in saving his job

Obviously DL is looking at Subban, just doesn't want anyone to know about it....since, you know, no one knew about it in the first place...

This logic doesn't apply until Hammond reports it.

Malone? God no.

Moen? Yes please. But we'll probably end up with Mathieu Darche

Wonder if Montreal would be interested in a Kostistyn for Penner swap. Kind of fulfills a need on both ends. We badly need skill, they badly need size. Both are UFAs at the end of the year.

Also wouldn't it be fun to have Diaz on this team..

So we could have a defensive pairing of Martinez - Diaz? Everyone who didn't know hockey who heard those names on the same line would be like "wait whaaa?" Hell let's go get Raffi Torres from Phoenix...and someone find out what happened to Manny Fernandez.

Only way I trade for Malone is if Brett Connolly comes with him.

Clifford-???-Westgarth

Scuderi-Doughty
???-Voynov
Johnson-Greene
Martinez
Drewiske

Quick-Bernier

Free Agents: Mitchell, Penner, Stoll, Fraser, Hunter, Parse

We don't know the status of Simon Gagne, whether or not he'll be coming back, if he'll be healthy, or if he'll continue to sit out with an injury or decide to retire (which I hope doesn't happen). If he's not prepared to play or hangs them up, then that creates another hole in the top six that the Kings will have to address.

In terms of free agent forwards, here is a list of players to keep an eye on that could be moved at the deadline or sign with new clubs during the summer (DISCLAIMER: I'm not suggesting the Kings pursue all of the names listed below at the trade deadline and/or free agency):

Zach Parise
Alex Semin
Shane Doan
Teemu Selanne
Ryan Smyth
Ales Hemsky
Tuomo Ruutu
Kristian Huselius
Brian Rolston
Daymond Langkow
Brad Boyes
Jason Blake
Jochen Hecht
Andrei Kostitsyn
Milan Hejduk
Jaromir Jagr
Olli Jokinen
Ray Whitney
Niklas Hagman
Jiri Hudler
Jason Arnott
Mikhail Grabovski
Jamie Langenbrunner
Sami Pahlsson
Mike Knuble
Vaclav Prospal
Paul Gaustad
David Jones
Mikael Samuelsson
Jordin Tootoo
P.A. Parenteau
Lee Stempniak
Saku Koivu
Chris Kelly
Gregory Campbell
Shawn Thornton
Taylor Pyatt
Andrew Brunette
Todd Bertuzzi
Travis Moen
Radek Dvorak
Steve Sullivan
Alexei Ponikarovsky
Ruslan Fedotenko
Torrey Mitchell
Frans Nielsen
Jay McClement
Adam Burish
Dominic Moore
Tom Kostopoulos
Brandon Prust
Toby Petersen
Daniel Carcillo
Kyle Wellwood
Tim Stapleton

It's a pretty long list of third and fourth line quality players with few top six talent. If the Kings look to dip into free agency to replace Fraser and Hunter, then they have plenty of options at their disposal.

In terms of players from within the system, we could possible be looking at the following who may graduate to the pro ranks:
Tyler Toffoli (top six role)
Oscar Moller (top six role)
Brandon Kozun (top six role)
Marc-Andre Cliche (fourth line forward)
Dwight King (fourth line forward)
Jordan Nolan (fourth line forward)
Only one of those six is worth anything. Sign Mitchell forget the rest done. And as you say sign or Graduate to fill the holes.

I rather try to get Max Pacioretty if there was a choice, no reason MTL would trade him but he is the guy I would like out of there.

Yes, but then we'd have to take Gomez!

The interesting part is, if you remove the C from Brown he's a lot like Adam Deadmarsh. Remember what Rob Blake fetched as a UFA to be from Colorado? I hope DL isn't that dumb.

Btw, as much as I have maligned Dave taylor for some of his actions, that Blake trade is the greatest UFA to be deal ever. Unbelievable and we had a better scouting system and luck with injuries we should still be reaping from that deal.

If it's about Moen, I'm happy to hear it. I hope we get Moen. After Moen though the only one I can see Montreal willingt o move that I'd have any interest in is Kostitsyn, and he's not really near the top of my list.

Moen and Kostitsyn for Holloway and a 2nd in 2013?

LOL about 99% of hockey articles involving trades should be taken not with a grain of salt, but as pure BS. I wouldn't be surprised if these "journalists" are trying to will a trade they want. Or talking to someone on the inside and helping to get theball rolling. Hate to compare it to pro-wrestling, but that's what the wrestling "sheet writers" used to do back in the day. They write articles saying "so and so coming to so and so promotion" and now promotion is pressured to do it.

Might not work on the same level in the NHL, but yes, I put most of these trade rumor NHL "journalists" guys on the on the same level.

Disclaimer: Reporters who report actual news, example Hammond (always fun read), are exempt from my hate lol.

Also, keep in mind every time you click on one of these clowns' sites, you're giving them $.

Yeah, you have to give to get and if the Kings were going to move Bernier to TB Connolly would be the player to get, not Malone. If Yzerman wants to get bailed out of his piss poor goaltending situation he has to pay.

Absolutely, Dave Taylor was very shrewd at the trading table when he wasn't trying to save his job.

If we could get them to take Penner in that deal, it would be truly amazing!!! Maybe we'd have to throw in Shore or Vey?

Penner
Bernier
Shore OR Vey

for

Connolly
Malone

Hey, that might be something!!!

Would we have to take Roloson?

Yeah, we'd have to take Roloson, but it would still work money wise so I see now problems or issues with the deal.
