I'm just wondering if there is any place before/after the game to meet the players without being annoying? I know some NHL teams allow waiting after by a gate for the players... do the Wild also? We're fans of both the Aves and the Wild, so being able to meet/get something signed by either team would be beneficial.
If not - that's fine. Naturally the game will be worth the trip alone.
Also, is there anything we should know about the arena/game/etc? We know the area pretty well, so if there's anything you suggest or recommend us knowing, feel free!
Might get a better response on the wild.com message boards.
I've got no clue as far as autographs. I've heard visiting teams stay at the St. Paul hotel and players walk over to the Xcel from there, so maybe people try for autographs there. Tom Reids bar has some players in it occassionaly, I guess. Not sure about other local spots; we never stick around downtown.
Great arena for a game, in my opinion, where are your seats? I'm not a fan of any of the concessions. It's all overpriced and not very good. Familiarity breeds contempt though, so my opinion might not be fair there. If you're in the upper deck, avoid the escalator and take the stairs down at the end of the game. The stairs closest to the hockey lodge on the upper deck (section 215ish) have treated us best. Especially if you wait to hear the three stars announcement before leaving. The club level is open and the bar is open after the game, so you could swing in there if you wanted to check it out. Nothing too special, but you get to see more of the arena. Hope you have a good time.
