i think this is gonna be a pretty disappointing trade deadline for us. Nitty got waived so someone could have him for free which can't be good for Nabbys value and when you look at who our pending UFA's are -
I really wouldn't mind cashing in on Grabner. He's too inconsistent a scorer, and he's quite possibly the worst passer on the team.
Have to agree with that. He's going to have several Cy Young seasons going forward (for example 30-8, 30 goals 8 assists) He's a terrible passer. Simply a solo player who needs someone to get him the puck.

i wouldnt be surprised, and depending on the return, i wouldnt be against it. someone on the devils board said there were rumors from lebrun (i think it was) that subban might be available. if grabner could get subban, id do it in a second. but thats wishful thinking...slightly.

I'd like that. I think the Isles need more toughness in the top 6 anyway.
And btw, that's for Subban too, I wouldn't give away Grabner but if you can find a nice return I would be for it.
They HAVE to trade Frans Nielsen. He doesnt fit in anywhere on this team. He does not produce enough offense to be on the 2nd line and he is not physical enough for the 3rd line. The only way I would want to keep him is if we could make him a wing.

I agree with you that he does not belong on the second line. However i think with two gritty wingers he would be a solid 3rd line choice. I would not put him on the wing at all.
However if someone calls and offers me there 1st i might consider it.
He's cheap, he's experienced, and he wants off the Island. He also holds his fate, though, as Nabokov has a no-movement clause and will ultimately determine where he wants to go.
The Islanders want a high draft pick for Nabokov, which has prevented a move, so far

When ISN'T the trade deadline a disappointment for Isles fans? There was the Smyth trade and then a bunch of meh, unless you like Janne Niinamaa and Alex Karpovtsev.

SSSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! every time i see Niinamaa mentions it makes me ill!
and it was laughable that milbury thought the acquisition of Karpotsev would get us past the first round

good point, so this trade deadline will be business as usual.
