426 was a great section. Was there for years.

There was a guy in the section who used to wear a Hnilinka jersey. He was up front against the rail. So, the section used to chant..."Hiney-licker" every game. I think the section thought that Hnilinka was the guys last name and not an ex-Rangers player which to me made it even funnier.

To add to that. My brothers ticket from 426 is actually in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto from 94. Courtesy of some friends up in Toronto

Has anyone sat in the west balcony barstools? They seem like a decent place to catch a game from.
I've been up there between periods. Sat in a barstool to get a sense of what it's like. It's a VERY steep point of view. You're above the scoreboard in terms of height. You definitely get a view of the whole ice but I don't think I'd enjoy watching a full game from there.

So what do most of you with 400 level seats plan on doing this summer when the 400s disappear? Just keep your new "equivalent" seats in the last few rows of the new upper level section closest to where you sit now, or relocate somewhere?

Who knows.... I am fortunate to be able to sit every game in 100 level seats if i wanted.... But for me there is no better view for hockey than the 400 level....

I dont think its not all the 400s that go away. Only the ones on the sides get "blended in" The ones on the end (410-418) overhang the lower bowl too much to get merged into the 200s/300s. Most people in my section just expect to get a new chair, but in the same seat, but dropping off the last 2-3 rows (that are now obstructed).

I should reword what I said earlier. I don't hate quiet fans I hate quiet fans that get pissed off that I'm cheering for my team.
Ehh, they're a lot of people yelling and screaming, I don't need to go crazy. It's not like I sit there on my hands, I just don't get very excited and jump up and down.

I use to have two tickets and sometimes would go by myself. I'd sit there and watch the game and quietly mumble to myself about what's going on. Probably looked like a nut!

did folks in the lower bowl relocation get the same vantage point view when re-located? I would think 300 and 400 level subscribers would be relocated to similar location next year.

Our crowd in general is very quiet compared to other Original 6 teams' crowds. If you've ever been to a Red Wings game at the Joe you know what I mean. At times the Garden gets so quiet you can hear a penny drop, the is for both Rangers and Knicks games.

Im in 412 and I also agree with this. I think they are going to cut out those last few obstucted rows and make that walkway alot more wide. Also our area is part of those stairways to the west balcony so they have to be there. Larry Brooks also mentioned approx 1500 blueseats that would be in one of the goal ends representing the old blue seats in MSG. I think that would be us. Im expecting a new seat, maybe it will overhang more and be steeper, who knows? The one thing I do know is that it will be more expensive.

Generally they tried to keep people close to where they were before. But in some cases where that meant your ticket price was increasing by 95% (like mine) they moved you over a section or two in order to keep your cost similar to what you were paying previously. Hopefully there won't be any 95% increases for 300/400 seats, although I would no be shocked if the center 300s are jacked up nearly 50%. It's the Dolan way.

I was up in Boston for the game last week and the crowd was dead with the only time the place getting loud was when the crowd told them to. Also, Toronto is as quiet as they come in terms of sold out buildings.

Montreal is first when it comes to 06 crowds but the MSG crowd is right there with the rest of them. If you're judging by an average regular season game, any arena will get quiet. MSG is extremely loud for big games though (game 4 last year after Boudreau said what he said was nuts).
