Well send an offer for just Rask then and I'll see what I think about it. =)

Piss.

Not much else of value I can give up without scuttling my season.

I think that, like the NHL, we should have a lottery to keep teams from tanking.
Wait ... what?!?

The trade-waiting period should be cut down from 5 days.

Another deal done. Rask+Del Zotto for El Nino+Carlson+Tatar.

Looking to trade a few prospects for something of worth. Prospects available are Tatar (assuming the trade goes through), Dalpe, Schwartz, and Coyle. Four top quality prospects.

Fair enough. I'll probably do that in that case as long as no one disagrees.

Made a minor change. Lowered the maximum age of minor league players by one year to 23. No biggie. I felt like 24 was far too high. 23 sounds more about right to me. Anyone have a problem with this? This, along with lowering the trade waiting period significantly, are the only changes I've made thus far recently. Both minor changes at that. Still, if anyone has a problem with this let me know now.

Anyone who is 24 and needs to be in the minors probably isn't a very good fantasy option anyways

I know, but people can abuse it by putting 24 year old NHLers in the minors so I had to lower it.

EDIT: Actually, **** it. Might as well not use the age restriction as it's kind of redundant. Might as well just go with a games played restriction.

Oh, I thought the guy had to actually be in the minors (or juniors, college, etc.) to go down to the minors.

No. Since I got rid of the age limit there's just an 82 GP restriction (for goalies too).

Got bad news and good news. Good news is that I've heard from customer support that drag-n-drop lineup changes are going to be ready within the next couple days. I sent in a suggestion that they should change it to a drag-n-drop format similar to Yahoo and this is, verbatim, what they sent me back:

Quote:
Your timing is almost impeccable - drag & drop lineup changes should be ready within the next couple of days.
So yay for that. I know a lot of us didn't like how rudimentary the lineup changing system was.

The bad news is that I found out that there's no separate option to keep all minor league players. Minor league players are kept the same way any other player is kept meaning that you would have to select them as one of your keepers. This is very problematic for me. I'm thinking I'll just record everyone's minor league players in this topic and put all the players back on everyone's teams manually at the end of the season.

Or just add to the amount of keepers for the league, but make a minimum number of minor leaguers mandatory?

Wouldn't work as is. Too late for it. Some people have as little as two prospects some have as much as 10. If I knew this at the start of the season (which, at the time, we didn't have minor league spots), then I could have done this.

New trade:

Rundblad+Holtby+Adam for Stewart+J. Jokinen+Caron

Anyways, despite all my trades, I'm still looking to trade. My untouchables:

Niederreiter
Granlund
Schwartz
Armia
Ashton
Connolly
Coyle
Glennie
Hamilton
Markstrom
Bernier
Zajac
Petry
Eberle
Read
Rundblad
Holtby
Adam

The rest are up for sale. Send me some offers! Guys like Connolly, Konopka, Ribeiro, and Vermette are all available. One thing I'm looking for especially is a young NHL backup or starter goalie like Schneider or Bobrovsky.

I was thinking that, on the topic of handling the dispersal and prospect draft after contraction, I was thinking of doing this. Have a lottery for the bottom eight teams to decide the order of things then use the inverse order of the prospect draft, while holding another lottery for the top 8 teams in the league, to decide the dispersal draft order. Sound good?

ATTENTION

Both the keeper deadline and trade deadline are february the 28th. Make sure you have your keepers marked before then and you're done trading before then. Thank you.

I've sent this message via e-mail, commissioner message, and forum messages (on here and Fantrax boards) so there's really no excuse to not get your keepers in on time.

Apparently the keeper admin screen isn't available. I asked Fantrax why that is and they told me this:

Quote:
The Keeper Admin screen is only available before the draft. Therefore it will become available again after you renew your league for the upcoming season, which can be done shortly after the current season is over.
I don't really understand what they mean by this. Can anyone clarify for me?

Anybody? I think they don't understand what I'm telling them because they're telling me that the keeper admin section won't appear until before the next draft, but after the current season which doesn't make any sense at all.

Basically, we can't choose our keepers until the off-season. I think. Which is massively stupid.

Hmm.

Well...on the plus side, I guess it gives us more to do in the offseason.
