I agree. I have hated the shootout from the beginning; I never minded ties. But the shootout really takes away from the team game. I also wish that, because so many games are decided by shootouts, the Flyers would go get someone who is an expert on shootouts. I don't care who it is. I don't care if they are fat and overweight, like Chris Farley. Use him like we use Shelly - play him 2-4 minutes a game, and then in every shootout.
With the flyers roster I don't see the shooters as the problem (if they're healthy). I think the inability to stop the puck is more of the problem. Just my opinion
Yea didnt know what he was doing there. Rookie mistake. Other than that though, he looked pretty good. Made some solid plays on both ends. I didnt see OT, but I read on another site, he went beast mode at one point?
He had one play late in the game where he seemingly just went '**** it' and went for a goal, went past like three panthers and had a decent shot.

Our shooters haven't even been that bad over the years with Giroux, Briere, and Richards. The goalies have always been awful in them.
I think he could have had the first one. I think the scrambling around before kind of threw him off a bit and I think the bump in a way got to him.
I agree on the 2nd. He overplayed himself out of position.
All in all though can't really complain with his play.
Disagree on both counts.
On the first, he made two amazing saves, then got bumped and screened by the guy who bumped him. When he tried to look to the left to see the puck, it went in on the right.
When Timonen scored this exact goal last week, we called it great shot placement after a great screen.
On the 2nd, he stayed with Versteeg. IF anybody had bothered to backcheck, Versteeg would've been killed as soon as he stopped to spin around, and certainly Fleischman should have been taken and hit before he could execute the spinarama.
That was just shoddy backchecking after a horrible turnover by Jake.

Can't really balme Bob for any of the goals last night, and he is the reason Flyers ended up with 2 points (the way they played defence it could have been -0).
The second goal he did slide way out of position, however even if he had not, there would have been very little chance for him to block Fleishman's shot. So either way, the goal is on defence.
