i don't know if any teams would take Sauer right now, at least not as a major component in a trade. PCS puts a questionable air on him. Perry or Ryan will have Anaheim asking for Kreider instead of Thomas.
Perry over Ryan
Let them ask. We offer alternate value.
Girardi at his peak value, Anisimov still regarded as mid 1st round value, + fine prospect Thomas.
We keep Kreider. Add Perry.
Loss of Girardi offset by fresh Staal balance of this year.
So a package without an NHL roster player can obtain the league's MVP last year?
And you'd rather have Kreider over Perry.
We've officially gone bonkers in this thread.
Not to nitpick but the proposal he was responding to was "one of our young d-men"... which is all we have (thankfully) so it may very well be a roster d-man, not necessarily Erixon/McIlrath.
The Leafs would certainly have an interest in Carolina’s Tuomo Ruutu. The Hurricanes have held talks with his camp, but it’s believed Ruutu wants too much on a long-term deal, which means he’ll likely be moved.
Quote:
Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford has been silent on the trade front. That’s partially because Carolina has played better of late, but it also has something to do with his outrageous asking prices for players. League sources said the Hurricanes are asking for either two No. 1 picks or an ‘A’ prospect and a No. 1 pick in exchange for one of pending UFA Ds Tim Gleason, Bryan Allen or Jaroslav Spacek. The price will come down before the deadline
This thread is over 5.000 posts long. I have read all of it.
Madness I say. Utter, absolute madness!!!
It is madness. People suggesting they wouldn't give up Hagelin for Ryan....people saying Anismov/Sauer/and a drfat pick would land you Ryan....People suggesting Wolski/Christensen have trade value....
Just to put in perspective, there is a report that Rutherford is asking for a #1 AND a top prospect for Gleason who is a UFA.
It's fun to talk trade, but let's make them realistic...Also, let's not fall too much in love with guys like Dubinsky, Anisimov, Hagelin....All nice players, but NONE of them would be stumbling block to adding a big talent.

You forgot the numerous packages that included one of our 4 players in Ottawa right now not named Hagelin, Lundqvist or Gaborik.
as that package might very well seal the deal, i would rather have Krieder imo.
WHAT? You would RATHER have Kreider than Corey Perry?
Holy ****.

Also read Selanne doesnt want to move which makes sense since I have read the whole pt of him still playing for the Ducks is because his daughter is ill and the doc is there
Can Burke just come and and destroy the Ducks momentum by trading an absurd amount for one of Ryan/Getzlaf?
Kill 2 birds w one stone. Maple Leafs get burned trading for a star again. Anaheim starts unloading. Maybe they try to go for the trifecta and unload all of Ryan/Getzlaf/Perry.
In any event it probably signifies to the Ducks players that they're folding for the season, if not for the next few.
Then Selanne will be more open to moving (since now he is not because of his love for Anaheim and belief that they can make the playoffs and make a deep run into the playoffs)... at least then he may have to reason that to give it one more shot at a cup he'll have to set aside his love for a few months and go somewhere else.
That's just my bias to get Selanne in a Rangers uniform.
Most likely Ducks remain in tact and he stays there for the run.
Yes, seriously. Your response was so ridiculous that I had to ask the question. You would NOT trade such a package for Perry? Give me a freaking break.

What?
My response was in Anaheim's case. If that's what it takes to get a last year's Hart Trophy winner, then sign me up.

Perhaps you should not post so ambiguously, then. How would I know what you were referring to? Especially coming just after a post that thought it absurd to move Kreider for Perry.
I'd want Parise. I don't think you can go wrong with either Parise or Perry - very similar players...
For us though, Parise is a better fit since he is LW.

Holy ****.
It is reaching the point of absolute absurdity. Even if Kreider succeeds in the NHL he will fail based on the massive expectations that have been inexplicably heaped upon his head.
By the way, you give up just about anyone short of Stepan and Lundqvist to acquire Perry.

Perry, hands down.
Parise's knee injury has affected him a little. Perry has every bit the skill and heart that Parise has, with more grit, without the injury risk.
