TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie Los Angeles puts Cam Paddock on unconditional ($125) waivers, presumably for purposes of mutually-agreed termination of contract with Kings.
Big bust for Manchester. I thought he'd do better for sure.

Should we be worried that the only guy on the Monarchs with a worse +/- than Cam Paddock is Jake Muzzin?

Best news I've heard yet. He has been totally useless.
Thought he had abdominal surgery shortly before christmas, and he's back already? Could've swore he was going to be out a couple months and it's been just over one...
I've never understood the appeal of Muzzin. The year he got some games with the Kings he was easily outplayed by Hickey and Fransson in camp.
I thought Fransson played really well in camp. I was surprised he wasn't offered a contract.
What is it that you don't like about Muzzin? He always looked good to me (better than Hickey). From what I've read, most of the Monarchs posters consider him to be the best defenseman in Manchester.

I know right, that's exactly what I thought. But he's already back, playing his same fearless wrecking ball style as if nothing happened.
Clune just got into a scrap with Garth Murray of the ice caps but headed off after for repairs.
Edit: He came back for the 2nd
Narchs down 3-0, Jones pulled, Zats in
Unfortunately the final score St. Johns 3, Monarchs 2. Monarchs played good once Zatkoff came in but just couldn't quite finish the game off.
Daryl Sutter was at the game tonight. He was interviewed before the game started - not to my surprise, I couldn't understand hardly a word he said (just like listening to him on on Kings Live).

Very interesting how last year Jones came in as the unheralded backup and stole the job from more experienced and heir apparent to Bernier in Zatkoff and now this year Zatkoff has come back and stolen the starting job back.
If the Kings deal Bernier this off-season or next off-season are one of these guys going to be able to step in as the backup in LA? Haven't seen very much of Manchester the past 2 years, only a handful of games.

Other than last year Zatkoff has quietly put together a number of solid seasons in the AHL. There's just always been someone overshadowing him and getting most of the attention. The first year it was Bernier and Zatkoff the two began the year putting up very close to the same numbers until Zatkoff struggled in a couple of starts. The next year Jones came in and started to play great but struggled at times and Zatkoff who was bad early was very solid later in the season to the point were the two were almost playing every other game. Zatkoff has always had problems with consistency and it looks like this year he's finally figuring it out.
