I've been living in Laval since 09 and it's actually not that bad. To be fair, I sleep in Laval and live in Montreal.

Every city has its good parts and its bad parts... but don't tell me that Hamilton is an Awful Place.

As for not caring about AHL hockey.... I'm pretty sure there were over 20,000 people at a game just last week... and there are well over 6,000 tickets already sold for the game tonight. So yup, no one cares about AHL hockey in Hamilton either.
Good point. I guess it's unfortunate that the bad area of Hamilton is the downtown/north end which is where Copps is so that's what everyone who visits for game sees. All the great spots you mention go unnoticed.

You are right... if all you are coming for is the game, then you won't notice those spots.

Hess village though is within walking distance from the game, but i will grant you that its a lot better in the summer than it is during hockey season. It really needs the patios to be open before it gets good.

However the post was about what a hockey player living in Hamilton would be able to see and do, so I think that a lot of the places mentionned do become relevant as they are living in or around the city.

Hamilton's a fine working class City, it's only down fault is it's too close to Toronto. Every year I hear Laval want's more Metro's, Electric Tramway Network an AHL Arena, with what money? Lot's of Idea's mostly dreams....

Although I haven't set foot in Laval in the last 8 years I don't see any objection to the Habs moving their affiliated AHL team there. An emergency call-up would be only a taxi ride away and it would be convenient for the GM too see the prospects. In turn, the prospects could see the Habs play.

Why not expand the Bell Complex in Brossard and have the AHL team play there ?
