Honestly, as cool as it would be to see Gabby-Hagelin, I'm glad Gabby is not in the fastest skater.

Need to keep those legs as rested as possible.

Poor Danny, all he got assigned to do was be a passer for one event.

Extremely disappointed they are not using Gabby for fastest skater event, i was really looking forward to see Gabby vs Hags.

As big of an honor that Girardi made the All Star game, I think they got the wrong Ranger. I think McDonagh and MDZ would be a lot better choices for the game and skills competition.

This. And hopefully Hagelin finishes with the fastest speed and Lundqvist doesn't allow a goal in the shootout.

That's the relay race involving a bunch of events like the plates in the net and the accuracy passing and etc.

Hagelin, who has not skated since the Rangers 3-0 win over Winnipeg Tuesday night, said he would make sure he warmed up his legs and body with a hard on-ice workout at Scotiabank Place Saturday morning in preparation of the SuperSkills Saturday at 7:00 PM.

The rookie also understood why his speedy teammate Gaborik is not taking part in the Fastest Skater competition.

"That's the last thing he needs to do," explained Hagelin. "It is a very tough event and he has had injuries in the past with his groin and whatever. There's no way he should be in that event."

The last thing we need is Gaborik pulling a hammy flying around the rink. Im please because I feel as if Hagelin will dust just about any one any way.

I wouldn't even want to drive that car, and I make about a tenth of what he's making this year.

I understand it has to be a honda, but they could've given a pilot or something

IŽll watch it because my lilŽ son donŽt let us sleep that much

But the only thing which IŽm interessted in are the shootout and how Carl will be at the fastest skater contest.

Who wins this? Is it an elimination modus with 1 on 1 races or does 1 player skate on his own and the guy with the fastest lap wins it?

Thx for answers!

They have different categories. The goalie race, the backskating race (defenseman), the rookie race (hagelin), and the non rookie forward race. Each race the two skaters start on opposite sides of the rink at the red line and have to do 2 laps before the other guy does. They take off in opposite directions and race each other

That's the old format. Apparently they changed it for this year:

Of course they had to make it more confusing...

Participants
* Five players from each team compete (one Rookie, four All-Star skaters).
* Order of skaters -- Backwards, Goalies, Rookies, two All-Stars

Points
* Six points available
* Winner of each heat scores one point
* One point awarded to overall winner

Procedure / Rules
* The contest consists of five races, (two players skating at one time) plus one final match race featuring the fastest skater from each team.
* One skater from each team is positioned side by side on the start line, both skaters race towards the same end zone, both turn outward, skate to the opposite end zone, turn back and skate past centre ice to the finish line.
* The winner of each match is the skater with the fastest time as recorded by the timing devices.
* In case of a clock malfunction, the official time will be recorded by the referee's stop watch.
* The player from each team with the fastest time will meet in the final match to determine the NHL's Fastest Skater.

They should have an event for Dan Girardi.

The shot blocking derby. Chara and Weber can be the shooters
