It's ok, he wasn't the only player there and he wasn't the only one having a good time.
Jeez louise, can he not have good time while on his break?!? Embrace him Montreal! After all the negative news that's been surrounding your team, his hilariousness has pretty much made everyone forget about it!!!! That alone requires a metal bust in front of the Bell Centre.
He's a revelation of fun!!!!
hehe, yeah I know, I was just making light of the fact that on this board, an innocent comment like that could mobilize the majority of the Montreal media and culminate in the "even darker darkest day in Habs history".
Ps. I really enjoyed the Alfie love this ASG. I've always liked him and he makes me miss Saku so much.
No goalie is worth that much in overall term and cash. We've had this discussion in December. Price is not a 7m goalie AND a long term contract. Too risky, the goalie position is rather stratified and none of those deals seem to pay off (except Lunqvist, maybe).
Price is also shoddy at best in the playoffs in the W-L record, not that I doubt him at all. Let him prove himself a bit until we give him the moon AND the stars.
He was great during those shootout skills that's for sure, and tons of people loved him. Now.....he does immensely struggles in real shootouts. Also true that he's not solely responsible for this team's problems. Of course not. But what it is the average of the goalies in shootouts. And let just say that he is just "average"....how many points do we have and where does that take us? Price is 46th in percentage. Okay not entirely fair, some goalies before him have only faced 3 shots. But compare him to guys who have faced around that many shots.
But true that if that team would have been better, he would not have had to go that much in the shootouts either. Though a team he is a PART to.
I do like his character in an event like that though, that's for sure. Fun for a change to see a Habs being liked on the main board. Pretty refreshing.

He's almost ready to steal the NHL away. How can anyone not like him? (No, really, gimme a reason)
He can't win shootouts, can't stop break aways, soft goals.
Thats not a reflection of carey price the person, i got a chuckle
from him as well at the asw. Really liked what i saw of him this weekend,
classy ,nice young fellow, easy to like guy.
The reality is, he had many chances to get an extra few points for the team
this year and he failed badly. It all starts from the goalie out, if that fails,
the rest of the team is sure to follow.
So what i don't like is the fact that he's been nothing more and some nights less
then an average goalie this season, how it will translate going forward, we'll
have to wait and see. Underneath that shield of calm there's a thinking side
to him and thats where his problem's start

In your assesment, I see alot of truth but at the same time, I see alot of what he's been living here has a goalie. If there is one thing Price has been guilty of is his maturity in the first couple of season. He now has been more professional and it shows.
If one goals goes in in a shoot out, he's lost the game for his team 9 out 10.
The team in front has never been able to bail him out with some offense.
It may start from the goalie out but the rest of the team needs to put out performance in order to follow.
In any case, the only this kid can win the respect from a lot of fan is win the cup.
I'm a longtime Halak fan since the 06 season (when he backstopped us into a win-in which Huet lost) and the new-look Carey Price has been great to see. Here's to a long future for Carey in Montreal!

He's far from being the only one responsible for the CH's shootout woes. Our shooters never score. This team really some snipers, I can't think of any players with more of a above average shot. Kostitsyn perhaps, but its mostly a strong shot, not that accurate and not a fast enough release.

Worse def corps means generally weaker goalie stats.
Yea, he left in a couple softies. Who doesn't? Who can face 80 MPH shots day in and day out and not let one pass by that he could have stopped?
Carey is a good goalie. In no way will I ever put the blame on him for this season, the onus is, IMO, entirely on whoever is responsible for the PP - both players and coaching staff.
Apparently somehow his lack of success in shootouts has made Carey Price a bad goalie against break-aways.
This is completely untrue. He's actually one of the best break-away goaltenders in the league. It does not seem to equate to the shootout (mental). But whenever there is a breakaway in-game. Carey Price usually wins the battle.
