Benn to Vancouver

Just wondering from a Dallas and Vancouver perspective, what would it take to bring Benn to Vancouver?

Obviously it's never going to happen unless there is a fallout, but I'm thinking Edler for Benn straight up. Is that good value? Or would Raymond + Ballard + 1st + 2nd be enough?

Edler for Benn straight-up.

Neither team does it, but the value is fair.

I'd start at Raymond+1st+Schroeder maybe?

I'd love to bring Benn close to home, but unless Dallas goes full rebuild (And even then) I highly doubt Benn moves.

Edler and benn have similar value IMO.

Neither team has any interest in moving either tho.

And if thats what the deal would be, it makes no sense to Vancouver, because of their forward depth and lack of D depth.

Edler is one of my absolute favorite defensemen, and to me, is horribly underrated. He's easily a top 5 defenseman in the league, stunning play in his own zone with amazing offense.

Benn's my favorite player, though. He's got such a bright future.

I think Benn for Edler straight up would be good value if either were available. But they aren't.

If there's a way we could snag Edler without losing Lehtonen, Eriksson, or Benn, I'd be absolutely overjoyed.

Goligoski
Oleksiak
Vincour/Glennie
2012 1st

How much more would we have to add?

We can't afford to lose our #1 D man when we want to win a cup now.

That's pretty much what I think everytime I see Edler's name in a proposal. He's still just 25, and in my opinion, a top-30 defensemen.

I don't think you can win the cup without a legit #1 D. Bieksa, Salo, and Hamhuis are good, but without Edler, or a similar replacement, that defense looks a bit like a patchwork D.

Benn won't get traded, but it'd be either Edler or Kesler coming back. Nothing else would work.

Only Goligoski helps us win this year and he's not the all-star Edler is.

To Vancouver: Benn, Goligoski
To Dallas: Edler, 1st

That's probably what it would take to get Edler.

You have to consider that Goose will earn 4,6 Mil $ for the next four years and Benn will sign a long term deal after the new CBA, Schneider and Raymond are RFA's. Not sure about the Salary Cap.

Raymond + Ballard + 1st is the new Ryder + Halak + 2.

Benn is not worth kesler today. 2 years from now sure maybe.

I DO think he will atain that level but he is not there yet.

I'd actually much rather have Benn over Kesler this year. Last year, it's Kesler AINEC, but he's not nearly as valuable this year, while Benn's value has skyrocketed.

Well, Edler is tied for 3rd in Dman scoring and a beast physically and has a cap hit of $3.25 this year and next (then UFA? some debate).
