David Perron to the AVS...

I know our fan bases don't really like each other at the present time but I was wondering what it would take to get him in an Avs jersey by the trade deadline...flame away my friends...

Please stop...

Perron won't be moved from St. Louis, and I highly doubt it'd cost less than Stastny, which isn't a deal Colorado should do. Much like Mueller, his value is greater to St. Louis than on the market right now as he proves he has fully recovered from that concussion JT gave him.

Unless we're getting Oshie/Backes I don't see a deal being made with the Blues anytime soon.

A severe overpayment.

There's really nothing on your team we'd ask for in such a deal except Duchene so obviously it wouldn't get very far.

Massive overpayment is what you would need.

In this case, I'm not a fan of the "ONLY OVERPAYMENT WILL GET IT DONE" kind of thing. However, also, in this case, the only players the Avalanche have that would interest the Blues are probably Stastny, Duchene, O'Reilly, and Landeskog. I think those are probably non-starters for Colorado. Maybe packages exchanged that include Perron and Stastny, but as a Blues fan, I'd rather keep Perron.

Landeskog is fantastic and I'd be willing to "overpay" from the Blues' perspective to get him, just not any of the Blues' current core players. And that is most definitely a non-starter for Colorado.

As for how the fans feel about each other, I don't think there's any real bad blood. It's mostly imagined. There are a few trolls on each side who don't come close to representing the rest of the fanbases, but that's true for basically every fanbase.
Some earnest Colorado fans are more agitated by it than they might be if the Avalanche were living up to their expectations. And some earnest Blues fans unintentionally stir things up by showing their excitement over Shattenkirk's development. The bulk of the interaction is pretty innocent, and, if anything, I think more Blues fans have come to like Colorado after the trade. As for Colorado fans, I cannot say.

Not gonna happen. We're in the same boat right now, needing to further develop our guys.

Neither side would be willing to make this trade work. The Avs would have to overpay, which they would not do especially if it cost Landeskog, etc. After last year's blockbuster, I really do not think these teams make good trading partners. Avs wouldn't give up the needed pieces to get Perron, Blues would ask for said pieces to get Perron- a big "no-go".

Everything we would want would equate to a silly over payment by the avs. Not a good idea,

I'm actually a big fan of the Avs. Definitely in my top 5. I think the trade was a win-win and I'm very happy to see that EJ is starting to play like the player he has the potential to be. Now with that out of the way....

I don't think David Perron is untradeable, but if we were going to trade him to Colorado, I would be looking for Duchene back. Obviously we'd have to add, but I don't think Colorado would be interested in trading Duchene anyway.

Wish Colorado best of luck the rest of the way in. Hope they make the playoffs

As mentioned previously, I would want one of either Duchene, O'Reilly, or Landeskog which I doubt any Avs fans would want to part with, and reasonably so.

I know i'm potentially opening Pandora's box, but what hypothetically would Colorado ask for in addition to Perron for Duchene?

It would probably have to be a package built around berg and perron for duchene. I don't think the avs would be interested in that though. Not much else makes sense.

Oh.

Ok. Understood. I can understand that. Duchene is going to be such a stud in this league for a long time

Moving on... lol

Perron is amazing when he's healthy, but he scares me as much as Mueller and I think having 1 Mueller on the team is enough...........

Avs already have one concussion risk in Mueller. That's quite enough.

No way would I part with either one of these players. Not sure about the Avs' management, but I am under the impression they wouldn't do so, either.

Blackberry. Or key lime.

Oh, brilliant point about his injuries. I completely overlooked that. On that note, I would be even less willing to trade for him. The Avs have Mueller already.

I wonder who would be the better player between Perron/Mueller had neither been head hunted by the Sharks. Both are amazing talents.
