And Benn is well-known for his amazing playoff performances. His Memorial Cup run? Two years ago where he led Texas to the Calder Cup finals?

Ask anyone who's better right now. Not many will pick Kesler.
I feel the urge to take this to a poll....

i love benn heck i know his sister as im from Vic.

But what he is on the verge of doing this year for the first time kesler had DONE in back to back years.

Kesler is coming back from surgery and having a sub par ytd. The reason is he BEASTED it up through 4 rounds of the playoffs something benn has never even played in let alone basicaly won a round solo.

Like i said earlier 2 years from now if benn continues his rise in production sure he might be a better player than kesler but today he is not.
You be quiet. Everybody here knows that Benn being an RFA after his current deal multiples his value exponentially over anyone who will be a UFA when theirs is done, regardless of how good the UFA to be is, or even how many years left on their deal.

Are you new to this land of NHL execs to be or something?

Plus, it's not like any GMs out there are thinking about their day to day, month to month, year to year job security or anything- it's all about how good their franchise can be 5-10 years down the road, long after they've been fired.

I like Benn but come on... Kesler is proven talent and one of the best 2 way players in the NHL... Benn isn't better than Kesler. Benn is having a great season but I'd and most people would take Kesler over Benn.

If I am not mistaken, half of the top 10 NHL scoring leaders of all time have been traded.

I guess your little Benniekins trumps all of those chumps though.

Does this have reference to anything at all in this thread?

Please, explain how this would. Most of those were very odd circumstances and they were only traded once.

Just for reference -

Gretzky - I wouldn't really count this, as Edmonton had to trade him.
Messier - Don't really understand this one. Might be something I don't know or forgot. Also, well older than 22.
Howe - Never traded.
Francis - Again, not sure why. Too long ago for me. But again, older than 22.
Dionne - End of his career, pointless for this argument.
Yzerman - Never traded.
Lemieux - Never traded.
Sakic - Never traded.
Jagr - That whole period of time was just a mess for him. Also, he was older, not 22.
Esposito - No idea why, but yet again, well older than 22.
Bourque - Don't need to explain this one.

Doesn't really help much in justifying a 22 year old being untouchable on the trade market.

Benn is invaluable to Dallas. He's untouchable in the sense that the only thing that would come back in a trade for him would be another young 70-80 point Center. So what would be the point?

It should be "Your superstar for Raymond, Ballard and a 1st". Every proposal. Just horrible.

As AOF said, and was previously stated, Benn won't be going anywhere. He's too valuable for us to move him for an even trade, and no GM in the league is stupid enough to offer up what it'd take to pry him out of Dallas.

Like the second one a lot more, but it'll never happen.

I wouldn't do it either, personally, but I'm a HUGE Benn fan.

Had to read the title again to get this.

It was only a matter of time...

Lol. You go from something that is at least somewhat close to good value for him to spare parts and crap. This isn't a video game where if you add enough ****** parts up they magically become valuable...

This Raymond+Ballard+2nd ******** is getting worse than the Ryder+Halak + 2nd pick a couple years ago...

This thread is ridiculous. Gaglardi would never trade with Vancouver (especially his franchise player). If Vancouver wants their own Benn-type player, then develop one. I suggest your scouts start looking in their own backyard (BCHL).

if Gaglardi would seriously nix a deal with Vancouver because of some personal problem he has with their owner my level of optimism for him as the Stars owner goes from high to in the garbage.
