2 goals allowed in his 6 wins!
but 24 goals in 6 lost...!
From what i see, he played like his old self 2 years ago... but only in the games we win. For most other games, he looks somewhat unfocus and sometimes our defense made him look bad... Thoughts?

Guys like Markov and Rivet has lot of talent but they have been weak links in bad games theodore is having all I can say is things can improve if Rivet/Markov pairing starts playing like last year, Our defence is better then last year talent wise now they have to come to play every night, Markov was our best defencemen last year and he needs to regain his dominant form again!!
I find that this team plays reasonably well with a lead, very poor from behind, and tight in a tie.
Theo has been very good I feel... The year he won the Vezina/Hart, his season was very similar to this one. He is generally a slow starter. The fact he has 4 SO's already is a great sign.
By mid november, these 4-6 gaa games will be very few and far between if Theo is the real deal... (which I have always thought he was)
When we scores first, everybody knows they are capable of keeping the lead and that include Theo.
When the other team scores first, everybody knows they are going to have a touch time and this is even more true for Theo.
We leads, Good pressure on Theo (if he stop the pucks, they will be ok). The other team takes the lead, BAD pressure on Theo (He still have to stops all the pucks but as of now it will still be not enough 'cause we are not scoring when back in a game)
That's why I think we are either winning by shutout or beaten to dead. RIGHT NOW, the first goal of the game IS all about you have to care if you want to knows on what side the win is gonna go. If we can win just a few games when we are trailing by 1-2 goals, would be nice and you would start to see Theo making the bigs saves to prevent many goals against games.
So true, the team cannot come back when they are losing. When was the last time did we came back to win, since I know last year we didn't do it once . But with some lucky rebounds the puck will go in the net more often then not. They have so many scoring chances and SOG, they can't continue like that and not score. When it will start to go in they'll be able to come back. Hope the win tonight will put them on a streak. BTW 100th post
If the team in front of Theodore playes welll, then Theodore plays well. As much as the saying, "you will only go as far as your goalie takes you" is true, it applies to the teams as a whole.
Of course Theodore has let in some questionable goals, like every goalie, but the reason this team loses big when they do lose is that the team around Theodore shuts down. The stop skating, stop playing the system.
Frankly, its not that Theodore has been inconsistent, fact is the team so far, has either played well, or very poorly. No in between.

Theodore's a great goalie, but without support his numbers will suffer. Let Gainey give Theo a team to work with day-in, day-out and he'll have a few more Vezina trophy's added to his collection before he's in his late 30s.

Definitely. There's no denying Theo's talent, but his support up front (or lack thereof) is what's killing Montreal (as anyone knows). Montreal's new defensive system worked very well for the 1st 7 games when they went 5-2, but something screwed it all up after that since they've only won 2 of their last 8.

Agreed....hopefully Markov, Rivet and Zednik can all step up and play to to the level they are capable at playing at.....Theo can sure use their support
Will all those shutouts help the Habs get into the playoffs? So THEO gets a shutout this game and then the next 2 he gets blow out, inconsistency will
lead the Habs right into the basement.

Speaking of basement, how is that easy bake working for you?
The Vachon Cakes are coming out great with my new oven.... :moon:
Maybe you could bake us a few after you come out of the closet. I Know it's hard being a hab fan in Boston, but we have Bruin fan in Montreal and they do ok. The sooner you come out, the more joy you will get from Vachon and your easy- bake.
