Timonen.

Even though that likely means his career will end instantly.

I pick

C- Hartnell
A- Timonen
A- Briere

But i also wouldn't mind swapping the top two.

I don't think Jagr is anywhere near the captaincy list, only because everyone knows there's only one year left in the tank for him, if that. And Hartnell would get the C before Talbot.

I said this before Pronger got the C, I would've gone with C-Timonen, A-Coburn, A-Briere, A-Hartnell, A-Giroux.
Assistants obviously rotate.

Kimmo should get the C and keep his A too.

Yes the "C" stands for cursed on the flyers. It is like a scarlet letter. I would hold off and just keep the A's

Kimmo is the Captain right now, you're blind to not see it. As soon as we get a definitive word on Pronger being done for the season, he will get the interim C. I think he has another year, seeing Jagr sign to play again will probably convince him if he already wasn't going to.

With that said I wish they didn't have to play him this much.

I think it is best to leave him be for a bit longer. If Pronger does not return I would rather Timonen gets it for 2012-2013, and for someone else to get it for 2013-2014 if Timonen is gone, and then Giroux.

I would not be against giving the C to Hartnell. Hartnell is what defines Flyer hockey. But then again so was Richards so who knows.

I like that idea, but I think it goes to Timonen for the rest of his time here, then to Briere if he is still on the team when Timonen leaves, then to Giroux.

Timonen. Easily. Giroux could eventually be captain, but I'm not a fan of giving young guys the captaincy just because they are the best player on the team.

Me either, I believe Kimmo gets the "C" next year, I would like to see Hartnell or Briere after that get it, and Talbot with an "A", I like Coburn getting an "A" also, and Giroux, I just don't want to see G get the "C" just cause he's the best player on the team either

Anyone else get flashbacks of Eric Desjardins when they think of giving Timonen the C? I remember Desjardins was the quiet, veteran leader who got the captaincy pretty much by default after the Lindros fiasco, but he was never really comfortable with it and ended up stepping down after only a year.

I think Briere would be much more comfortable as the captain than Timonen would just because it seems like Timonen isn't a huge fan of the spotlight and attention.

Briere - C
Timonen, Giroux - A

would make sense to me.

Retire the C, it's freakin' cursed. Give players a K for Kimmo instead, he is the juggernaut.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think hartnell should be the captain.

He's a great team first guy, and has been revered for being the type of glue guy in te locker room that helps bridge the gap between the younger players and the older players. It seems as though he's an easy guy to like among his team mates, and a guy that will do anything to win. Whether it be setting an example by getting into the areas no one else wants to go, recklessly throwing his body around, or stepping in to defend a team mate and dropping the gloves, he always seems to be a guy who seems to set the tone of game, especially this season.

I wouldn't mind at all to see him wear the c

Hartsy should've been given the "C" immediately after this:

Despite all his knuckleheaded play that's happened before and his occasional falling down for no reason, it's impossible to discount the major positive impact harts has had here.

IMO simmonds is quickly getting high up there as well. He always plays hard...

However, I'd give it to kimmo, along with a 1 year extension if he wants it.

Actually Hartnell makes a lot of sense. All the players seem to like him, and he is definitely a team first guy. He'll definitely get an A but I just don't see Holmgren giving him the C. It'd be interesting to have the players vote for 3 guys that they'd like to see wear the C.
