White Hockey Pads

Lately, I've been really noticing the pro's gear more, and one thing that stands out is that their shin pads, elbow pads, and shoulder pads are just white, no designs or anything. Anyone know if those are available for everyone to purchase, or just a pro thing only?

You're likely seeing either Jofa or RBK pro stock pads http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums...-to-get-jofas/

And they're very hard to find and if you do find them on ebay, likely to be very expensive. They used to be available in retail, but a very long time ago.

Other pro level elbows that are quite common would be the Easton Synergy 700s and eventually the new Bauer Nexus 1000 pads, though pros often modify their gear so some might be different than the retail version.

A lot of Warrior shoulder pads too which are white with silver logos.

I have a pair of the JOFA elbows and they blow retail ones out of the water. One piece elbow/forearm which never slides around, soft lining, great straps, very durable and well made, plastic inserts all the way around for insane protection. They're bigger overall than anything at retail and kind of wrap the elbow/arm instead of sitting on top of it.

They do go for $150+ on eBay because...well maybe Reebok isn't smart and doesn't realize they could make these pads in China and sell them for $100 retail as Reebok Pro elbow pads and we'd buy them left and right.

Simple reason why they don't sell the pro level pads. Not enough people will buy them to make it worth their while to design, manufacture and market them. Most hockey players play rec league and they want cheap and light. Pro pads are neither. They're awesome, but they are bulky and expensive. I had a pair of pro level shins and they were just massive overkill for rec league hockey.
