Neal/Sid/Malkin will be used quite a bit if we get healthy. There's no defensive scheme to answer that line.

honestly, that seems like one of the best ways to fill out their top-6 (Kunitz - Staal - deadline acquisition) AND take some of the load off of Crosby, while not ruining the Neal-Malkin chemistry.

Also, it would be a heck of a lot of fun to watch.

LOL. These are two completely different players with two completely different skill sets. Burrows is taking advantage of the opportunity that he has.

Burrows (as much as I dislike him), would be a great 3rd liner or a decent 2nd liner on most other teams in the league. He hits, PKs and has a decent shot. However his chemistry is so tight with the sisters that in Vancouver he's a 1st liner. It'll be interesting to see what he gets on his next contract. Likely 3-4m, however he's not worth anywhere near 4.

But you can't compare him to Neals chemistry with Malkin. Neal is a 20-30 goal player without Malkin. With Malkin (or Sid) he has the potential to be a 30-50 goal guy.

Comparing to James Neal to Alex Burrows is a serious insult to James Neal

I see the sarcasm smilie, but it still had me look up the last time the team played with Gustavsson in net.

It was a 3-4 loss to the Leafs, Malkin had 2pts, Kunitz and Neal had 1 each. That was before they were put together and started to develop great chemistry.

The thing I hate about the ASB is that if you are a team that is on a winning streak, it's hard to keep up that intensity when you play consistently to playing after a long lay-off.

Funny how the next 2 are against the Leafs though. Hopefully Kunitz-Malkin-Neal continue to terrorize their opponents.

Ryan is better than Neal any day of the week! Neal is producing because of Malkin so that in itself makes his value to Pitt more than to any other team.

Ryan has good players around him too.

Malkin had also been pretty bad the past couple years. Neal has helped him get on track and Malkin has helped Neal. The two things go hand in hand.

Malkin is definitely helping Neal's point totals but he had something like 5 goals in 7 games while Geno was out. A lot of people seem to be of the mindset that Neal is just leeching off of Geno or scoring tap-ins and that's totally false. Not saying that's what you're saying, I'm just saying.

I'd much rather see Neal re-signed than traded, even for Ryan at this point. His chemistry with Malkin is just too good.

Obviously an outsider looking in.

Malkin's numbers (assists) are also a bit inflated due to Neal's ability to finish. They're both helping each other. Neal's value is of an untouchable right now, but is it clear cut to say Ryan would have 40 goals or more if he were playing with Malkin? Not really. We just don't know. Ryan is great, but still hasn't scored 40 in a year yet, even with his great supporting cast too.
