I'd give the slight edge to Hollweg. Though Tyutin has stepped his game up the last couple weeks, Hollweg has continued to be very solid and gives this team some engery everytime he steps onto the ice, whether it's giving hits, hustling, or dropping the gloves like he did tonight against the Flyers. He's becoming a favorite of mine with his hard work. I'd give Tyutin the 4th best rookie ranking, though.

Tyutin, his game is improving since the start and it looks like hes back on the right tract to developing into that very good defensman we have hoped. Lets not forget Dmen take longer to develop then forwards. Good to see him back on the point tonight and he played good there again.

Hollweg was very close.

I voted for Toots without hesitation because, although he has had his bad periods, no other Rangers rookie except Lundqvist has been asked to shoulder a bigger responsibility.

By and large, he has come through well.

Why is Jed Ortmeyer in this poll? OK, I understand he's popular and on a line with two rookies, but he's not really all that young. He's as old as Roszival and older than Ward, who isn't on this poll.

I'm surprised that I'm the lone Betts vote at #3. I know Tyutin is the better overall player, but he's been pretty up and down this year. Betts has consistently been our best face-off man and our best defensive center. IMO, he's filled his role better and more consistently than anyone still on this list.

Moore. He's maximized his potential thus far and is part of the heart and soul of this team

Why is Ward not on the list??? Ward and Orts are the same age.

To me this one is very close between Moore, Hollweg and Orts. I think all 3 have played excellent hockey this year.

Voted for Orts based on how much I think he improved and how much he hustles.

I'm adding 2nd year players that i judged are young enough to be on the poll. Hence I added the "(Young Players)" to the rankings.

Good point. I'll add him to the next poll.
