AHL All-Star Game

is on CSN CA right now for those people living in the Bay Area. Matt Irwin and Tyson Sexsmith are there. Tyson Sexsmith will be playing the third period. It's 6-3 East right now half way through the second period.

I've got in on in the background while I do some homework. Anyone else watching?

Thanks for the reminder! I completely forgot. Good thing I didn't miss Sexsmith.

Sexsmith has made more saves on breakaways this weekend than he's made all season for WorSharks...

It's interesting seeing Sexsmith play with no defense in front of him. He's just as good as when he has the WorSharks very good defense...

So...like what's up with Sexsmith? A year ago people assumed he would remain a career AHLer, is this season a flash in the pan, or has he actually shown significant improvement?

He's no longer injured (his 1st two pro seasons he was hurt), he's shed a lot of weight, and he's committed himself to being an NHL goaltender.

Continuing the theme of reposting some of my tweets...

Sexsmith is showing he has what it takes to compete against the best. I know it's just an ASG but he looks very good out there

I thought Sexsmith looked good, not much he could do on either goal. The shoot out was dumb.

I really didn't notice Irwin at all, but I only watched the 3rd period.

Bishop is HUGE!! He's going to make some team very happy this off season.

Yep - he's really athletic for a goalie his size as well. Not a lot of net to shoot at.

As for Sexsmith, the two goals he let in during the game weren't so bad. Don't blame him for letting them in when no one was playing defense and he made some nice saves on a ton of breakaways. However, the shootout goals were kinda weak...

The shootout isn't his strong suit...and I haven't heard of anyone blaming him about the two he gave up.
