Campoli: YES. Trading Campoli makes sense. He's a known commodity who could help a team in need of stability on D.

Gill: YES. Another known commodity who is a proven playoff performer.

Weber: Maybe. Weber is young and has shown bursts of potential. He hasn't yet become the player he'll be, so trading him is a crapshoot. Never underestimate defensive depth.

Moen: Probably. Moen is a perfect 4th line forward, great for us and many other teams. I can see him as part of a package.

Kabs: No. Kaberle is our veteran defenseman for next year. We ain't getting Suter. Yes, Kabs is overpaid, but if he goes, we'll just end up overpaying another veteran defenseman to do what he's already doing.

Kostitsyn: No. AK is 26, a solid top-9 forward and former 1st round pick. Build around guys like this, don't swap them for unknowns.

I think if a Hab was to be traded RIGHT NOW, it would be Chris Campoli. With that in mind an injury to a offensive defencemen is what we should be hoping for right now, ideally to unload Tomas Kaberle for something (although the return would not be what he got at the deadline, his increased play may be beneficial to getting something semi-useful in return.)
There are other candidates to move (Hal Gill, Travis Moen if he doesn't sign an extension, Andrei Kostistyn (if we can get adequate return: i.e. good prospect and a 3rd rounder), possibly/hopefully Kablerle, and Weber.) Ideally, I'd like to have a lot of second ruond picks in this year's draft as it's really deep!
I predict Moen given high demand for him. I am kind of so-so on trading Kaberle. His numbers since coming here are not that bad. But watching him play can tell something missing from Toronto days.

Hal Gill is the first player gone.

His 5 on 5 time has been diminished and he's exactly what a playoff team is looking for.

Moen is second and Campoli 3rd, assuming someone wants him. Chicago might pick him up as he was decent in their system and doesn't need to be brought up to speed.

If Kostitsyn is traded it should only be as part of a mass exodus in return for a clutch of picks. One player wouldn't bring in enough to make a measurable difference. The problem is, the Habs don't have a raft of highly desirable players to trade, so we shouldn't expect to harvest a plethora of first rounders.

Campoli since he won't have an impact one way or the other.

PG will probably wait a few more games to see how the team is doing before looking to move Gill and company.

I think Moen and Campoli are two players we can move right now with out hurting our playoff drive (albeit faint hope) whatsoever. Once we arrive closer to the deadline and we do indeed fall out of the playoff race, then we should look at trading Gill, AK, and maybe Kaberle if possible.

wow alot of you said Campoli. I dont know why any team would want him.

I will say Gill and Moen will be close to the deadline, or at least after the next 5 games.

I say Weber and AK go together somewhere.....

Campoli will cost less then both Gill and Moen IMO and if a team is looking for a solid insurance player just in case something happens to a regular he can come in and help. Some team will definitely pick him up like last year when he was traded to the Hawks from Ottawa

Even if they manage to trade Campoli for a pair of dirty gym socks, the habs will win the trade.

I don't see Kaberle being traded at all.

Even tho he is likely to be traded, I think the habs want to keep Gill around.

My bet would be Moen.

And if we get a 2nd, everyone will rage hard. I hope we keep him and sign him, he is useful to us and willing to take a hometown discount.

Why not?

Not that I think management can expect to get him, but why can you say we won't get him? I sure hope they make a serious attempt if he's free in july.
