Torts probably wants the team to be more focused tonight, coming back from a long break. I'm not worried with our Marty in net, especially with the way their Marty has played against us over the past couple of years. Score first and we will win.

You can't start Biron tonight. Terrible job by Torts, worst decision hes made all year.

Lundqvist owns the Devils, divison rival, hes clearly in their heads and its very unlikely we lose if hes in goal..

Not at all. I'm not saying we still won't win tonight, but theres nothing I enjoy more than beating the Devils, and Lundqvist completley owns them. Ride Hank tonight and let Biron play against his former team tomorrow.

Some people are reacting to Biron starting like it's Valiquette vs the Penguins. Relax, people.

Its not that, its just Lundqvist is Lundqvist but against the Devils hes even better. He should be in net tonight. Oh well.

Awful decision to start Biron. It's a good possibility that we'll draw the Devils in the 1st round and we need to be in their heads. What better way than to stone them during the regular season with Lundqvist?

Horrible job by Torts here, IMO.

I won't say horrible decision by Torts to start Biron, the man knows what he's doing. That doesn't mean I'm not nervous about Biron getting the start though. Hopefully he comes up big tonight, I ****ing hate the Devils and this win would be big for the team going into Buffalo tomorrow.

Can't disagree about getting in their heads, it'd be nice to crush their confidence against us. This is one game where I'd prefer Hank to Biron, but I won't call it a 'horrible' choice by Torts. 2 big points are on the line and I trust either of our goalies to get them.

WTF, Biron?

This whole resting Lundqvist BS is getting old now.

Lundqvist dominates the Devils, why the hell is not in net.

this is what i was thinking.

Make sure the team is on their game after a long layoff by putting in the weaker goalie. forces the team in front of him to play better.

I'm confident the Rangers can win this game if they play well, whether it's Biron or Lundqvist in net. First game off a nice break and it's a division rival so the team should be up for it.

Feels to me like they haven't played the Devils in a long time for some reason.

This. People are acting like starting Biron is a huge handicap. Marty is a very solid goalie, and I'm confident he'll give us a chance to win. If we need Hank to steal the game just to beat this Devils team then we don't deserve to win.

Perhaps it has more to do with Biron sitting for so long ?

He missed his start before the break so he hasn't had a game in a good stretch

Plus what better way to get in their heads than a M-A-R-T-Y chnat for our guy in their building

So he can dominate teams in the playoffs.

Yeah, because it's not like we don't play the Devils 4-5 more times this season.

Let us say Biron plays stellar and stands on his head.

"We should have let Hank play. Fire Torts."

This is the only rational explanation of the goalie selection between tonight and tomorrow. All other reasons related to either Henrik's rest or Biron's workload etc don't overweight their success against Devils and Sabres, respectively.

I've heard you guys say it before but I took a peek in the Devils' GDT and there really are a lot of memes in it.

I don't really see the big deal. Biron is a fine goalie and Torts probably just wants to give Hank a little break from coming off the excitement of the ASG. If we were facing any other team nobody would care.

If we win today and tomorrow we'll all be talking about how good of a move this was by Torts.

I'm not too concerned because Birons been pretty good this year.

I always find myself disagreeing with Torts' decisions for the goalies in the back to back games...but the team has made him look good, and I can somewhat understand the decision to go with Marty tonight.

Now I get to see Hank in Buffalo tomorrow night
