The maximum is 4 A card players. You can dress additional B card players. As you said, it happens alot after the trade deadline and during the WJC.

A card is your on the OHL team... B card is your a player playing TierII, CCHL, JrB and your allowed 10 games in the OHL(WJC season doesn't count towards the 10) before you either sign with the respective team or you can't play until your priority team is finished there season and you can move onto the OHL team.

I don't know the rules as far as being a call-up, if you need to be signed or what not.

But 16yo Jason Da Silva (2011 7th rounder) was the back-up for the Storm last night and will be for a while due to Brandon Foote nursing an injury.

Not sure if he was signed. OHL rules say that a player can play 5 games without a contract. League rules mandate anyone who plays a 6th game must be signed.
