This team sucks at shootouts. Can we stop putting Richards, Stepan and Gabby out there on the shootout? They suck at it. Wish we had Zuccarello just for the shootout value

Can we stop putting Biron in? Hank for 82+ games a year. Wish he could handle it.

Remember during the Renney years when the Rangers were what the Devils are now?

Yeah! Let's play three one-dimensional offensive players that barely produce in that one dimension for a gimmick!

I don't even care about shootout losses in regards to team play. They piss me off because when we end a game like this with a gimmick, it feels ruined. Even with a win.

Lol.

Devils suck. They had to get A LUCKY BOUNCE off that POS arena's board to beat us.

Newsflash, there are no shootouts in the playoffs. Devs will be one and done even if they do make it in the top 8.

This is the only reason to bring up MZA though is for the shootout. Heck, try Hagelin.

Shootout shouldn't be anywhere near the forefront of this organization's concern. How about working on the ****ing abysmal PP before anything else.

you're right there are no shootouts in the post season. 2010 really showed you guys how meaningless a shootout win is. you lost in that big shootout but you guys did great in the playoffs that year IIRC.

Wait, really? A lucky win in the SO is the Devils biggest win? They must be having a worse season than I thought.

I never said it was meaningless. That's the best way to beat the Rangers. Just try to get it to a shootout and the Rangers lose 9 times out of 10.

K, but that won't work in the playoffs.

Just like I tell everyone else, I'd rather be a great team that can close games out most of the time in regulation and be terrible in the SO than an average/above average team that relies on the SO for extra points.

We are not THAT team anymore, and I gotta say, I'm more than happy to say so.

He's horrible at the shootouts.

That same bounce went against the Devils so many times the past few years. Both teams play with the same boards.

And yes, that was the biggest win of the season for the Devils. Beating the first place team when you're on the bubble is a massive confidence booster.

One things for sure, though. Anyone that claims that are was boring needs their head checked. I have to say though, the Rangers didn't look like they were playing up to the physical level of the Devils. Volchenkov and Kovalchuk laid massive hits on Richards and Anisimov and didn't have to pay a thing for it.

It's okay, the Rangers will sweep the rest of the series.

I hope not. I hope they go .500 they rest of the way and meet in the deep rounds. This tri-state area needs it.
