Kadri at the deadline

How many of you hope he gets traded at the deadline?

Personally, I've just been really unimpressed with his compete level and his lack of skill on the shootout. All the talent in the world, but soft and lazy. He's not even centering Kessel and Lupes, so we're basically paying him that money to play on the third line....

Just curious.

Unless it's for a good return, NO. This is exactly the type of player that will turn around and bite you in the ass later down the road.

Soft?

Ask Paul Martin if he's soft.

he's not even a center on this team, let alone supposed to be our first line center. so i don't know what your comment about centering kessel/lupul is about. his salary is absolutely within range of what other third liners make, so once again, your comments make little sense.

you want to talk about third liners making too much look no further than lombardi, connolly and armstrong.

Are you describing Connolly??

Give Kadri a break. He's only 21 years old ... How many star 21 year olds do you know? Developing takes some time. Kadri may take near a decade to fully develop into who he can become. Ie, look at Spezza

How many points did Seguin have last season? How about Hodgson?

Why did the Bruins and Canucks need them? Well maybe because they are the top two rookies right now and have a very bright future.

Patience.

Why does that matter? Why do we need it?

I'm sure that whoever we draft will have a pointless game or two. Then you'll start this thread again.

You're so funny OP. You should do stand-up comedy.

I'm not sure how much you think Kadri is getting payed but I bet it is pretty standard for a third liner!

And WE'RE!!!!! not paying him anything! MLSE is paying him $1.75M! I'd be more upset about the amount Connolly is getting paid to playthe third line!

Kadri is a great player and will do big things but we all just have to be patient and wait!

Despite this clearly being a trollthread I will humour the op.

I would give kadri up for 2 things.

1) in a package for a real topline center with size, ala staal or getzlaf.

2) for a guaranteed top5 draft pick this draft. If we can trade kadri up and get a younger more guaranteed prospect ala nail we have to do it, And I like kadri.

Bottom line is that kadri is an exciting rookie with hands like toronto hasnt had in a long time in a prospect they drafted themselves. We are clearly giving him a chance to succeed in toronto and the time to develop, and while he is not untouchable he is pretty damn valuable to Toronto. He is also a local boy to boot!

he shows flashes but he also disappears at lengths and still looks so physically immature. for three years out of the draft its a bit disconcerting but I'm not sure he's really been handled that well.

I've said it a few times this team should not have been so focused on the playoffs this year. Players like Kadri should have been given the year to play and play through mistakes at the cost of this year but the goal of being a perennial playoff team moving forward.

Having said if he can be a piece to bring in a legit top line player who is still relatively young i wouldn't have a problem moving him but sure as hell don't want him moved for a Morrow or Rutuu

This is ridiculous.

Perhaps if the OP had not just duplicated the Connolly thread completely, and raised some valid points from the get go, then maybe we could have a discussion here. As it stands, no.

Closed.
