Holly, I see Gajic was a 4th round pick for the Thrashers in 2001, doesn't look like he's still in the system, any further info other than the DJ Powers writeup from when he was at Michigan?

He's definitely not in the system. The Thrashers never tendered him an offer once he finished at UM. I'm curious to see him play, just to see what his game's like. IIRC, he never participated in any of our summer prospect camps. I could be wrong about that, though.

He was unsigned by the Thrashers this year, and picked up as a free agent by Providence.

[joke] They didn't sign him because they couldn't pronounce his name [/joke]

I've seen him play on TV. As I just told Dustin, he has a wicked one-timer from the circles. Watch for it, it's kind of a trademark.

He's 24.5, so this is about as good as he's going to get.

Nope, never did.

I watched Gajic for all 4 seasons at Michigan. He has a lot of offensive upside, but isn't very responsible defensively. Great one-timer, but not good enough to get by on that alone. If he doesn't end up in the NHL by the end of next season then I would say he never will.

Too bad, because his one-timer is pretty sweet. He's got another one of those names like Brett Favre where letters are pronounced like they're reversed.

Gajic should not be pronounced guy-ssh, it should be gah-jick.

Last night he was -3 in a 7-3 win. That's not easy to do.

That was one ugly game all the way around.

And I really find myself getting frustrated watching ECHL hockey this season, especially right after watching "New NHL" hockey the night before. The officiating just plain stinks, some nights worse than others but compared to the NHL enforcement it's like watching a different sport. It does serve as a vivid reminder of how much nicer the NHL is without all the hooking, clutching, grabbing, etc.

I totally agree. It has as much clutching and grabbing as ever. The minors absolutely have to have two refs, but the problem is where are these guys going to come from? The pipeline of refs is small and poor. Even if they go to a two-ref system, you can expect bad refereeing in the short run.

Milan had one heck of a gorgeous unassisted goal tonight against Augusta.

He's not Pelletier yet, but I think he'll get there with some time and some solid coaching. I'll take it!

Gajic posted his first professional hat trick last night, scoring all 3 in the 3rd against Todd Ford and Pensacola.

Todd Ford sees the Gladiators in his nightmares. They've put up 7, 7, and 6 goals in their games against him. I gave up trying to talk to him -- pissy moods and I've started to question if he's even worthwhile.
