Haha, maybe? It would the Kings biggest regret if they traded Doughty.

Doubtful Dean breaks up the best part of our team to upgrade the offense. Why fill one hole while creating another and yes, trading Johnson opens a huge hole on defense.

I read today that Sharp has a broken bone in his wrist but he's gonna get surgery in the offseason. Don't know if will be back to normal this season.

The more I think about it, the more I still want Carter The match makes too much sense. The contract is ideally priced and long, his skillset is a perfect match for our team needs, he has history with players, coaches, and management in the organization, he is affordably priced, and the needs of Columbus are the exact areas we are plentiful in (goaltending and defense).

Totally agree. How often does the chance to pick up a top-line player come up? DL has to make the move.

I was just reading LeBrun tlaking about how the Flyers are looking for a puck moving defenseman.
I wonder if we could JVR ++ for JJ. If there were trade that could get us Shenn back that would awesome.
JVR, Shenn for JJ and 3rd? I think I may have my Kings fans blinders on.

You do No way would we net that for Johnson. If he were as defensively sound as Doughty then sure, but it would likely be a near equal swap. JVR is still out indefinitely with a concussion though. I have a feeling that for both JVR or Carter, Dean is going to hold off until either the deadline or they become healthy to resume talks. If Dean is going to pay the price, he is going to want results this season, otherwise he will likely wait till the offseason when he can assess his chances at Parise.

I don't think he gets traded, they have a good team this year and I don't think they are going to mess with that even if it means potentially losing him for nothing.

Nonsensical if you are talking about the Kings. The cost is through the roof, we don't need to mess with our defense, and he is a rental. I just don't see anyone paying the asking price of roster player + A prospect + B prospect + 1st round pick, that's insane.

Not much of a leap. We are of course interested in both Carter and Parise, but I question whether or not the Devils move Parise. Either way, we would be more interested in the offseason. As far as Carter goes, he is due to come back from injury soon and rejoin the lineup. Will have to see how that goes, this will obviously be the big storyline for us leading up to the deadline.

Only in a fair deal, say for Malkin.

My man-crush is hard to maintain when he hasn't played in so long/VV is doing so well.

I just heard from Boomer on the Breakaway that his "sources" say the Carter deal is going to happen sooner, not later. He doubts LA as the destination, though, but that part was just his opinion.

Yes, XM radio host. Very good shows when driving around during the day.

I don't get stuck on it, but check back regularly. They always have good interviews.

Boomer Jim “Boomer” Gordon fills many roles on NHL Home Ice, including producer, personality and all-around sports guru. Boomer hosts and produces both The Point and Face Off, but he pops up everywhere on the channel. Boomer cut his teeth working on In The Slot with Phil Esposito.
