Visiting Helsinki for WC 2012

Hey. I'm visiting Helsinki for a few days during the World Championships. I'll be heading over on Friday May 4th until Monday 7th when I move on to Stockholm.

The NHL Playoffs will be in full swing at that point - this is a long shot but are there any pubs/bars that stay open really late on the weekends and screen NHL hockey?

Would be grateful for any responses.

Sports Academy (http://www.sportsacademy.fi/)would be your best bet, then places like Sport Chelsea Pub (http://www.chelsea.fi/) and Aussie Bar (http://aussiebar.net/) are possibilities.

But, i doubt it, as those games usually start at 7pm ET which is 2am in Finland, just as those bars as closing (Sports Acad 3am). Im sure there will be a couple of 'local' bars around the centre that could show it too, but the time will again be the problem - i dont see many still being open at 5am when the games finish!

What hotel are u staying in, maybes they have Viasat hockey channel?

Im sure the hockey on the ice will be good enough for you? are you waiting for individual tickets sales or have u been ripped by a package deal?

Yeah, as Jokerit Wasp said, bar close here at about 3am which is 8pm ET.

But some hotels have Viasat Channels so you could propably watch them at the hotel room if they have them.

As I feared. Was hoping that some bars stay open for 24 hours like some of ours do for the drunkards in the UK. Looks like a hotel is my best bet. Thanks for the replies.

Aussie Bar and Elmo bar & Grill both opened at 6 AM to show rugby world cup games and I believe some bars have been open during the super bowl. So I wouldn't be too surprised if they would do the same thing with NHL playoffs, or at least some games.
