You can see that in our game. It’s a much more passionate game out there, for the team as a whole. We still — at least I do, and I can’t speak for everyone else — but I have my sights set on San Jose. That should be our yardstick, is trying to catch them. Look ahead, and try to catch them. You never know, right? We had a little slump during the year. They could have a little hiccup. Teams usually do, during the course of the season. That should be our big-picture focus. Then in the short term, on game days, it’s doing what we need to do to focus on the next team we’re playing. If we do that, the next thing you know, you’re where you want to be. That’s where we’re going to be putting all our energies during the haul here, because we’ve got a lot of games on the road as well. I find, from having done this a few times, it just seems like time flies by really quickly. The games end up being — not that they aren’t all important, because game 1 is as important as game 82 — but it just seems to get magnified at this time of year, just because everyone is so close in the standings and fighting for a playoff spot. It’s going to be a big, hard pull for us. Much like anyone else, you just try to stay in it and jockey for position. We feel good, that we’re playing pretty well. We have another gear yet, I think, as a group, but we’re excited just to go forward and prepare for the next one here."

LET'S GO KINGS !!!

- UPCOMING SCHEDULE -

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

But are the Kings?

The Kings almost always seem to struggle out of a break, whether it is the all-star break or Olympic break. Hopefully Sutter has cured the Kings and they will show up tonight against the worst team in the NHL.

San Jose just destroyed them last night and if the Kings want to have any chance of winning the Pacific, like the players claim, they must beat the teams behind them in the standings. No more nights off.

bad non playoff team coming to staples on the 2nd game of a back to back where they were shutout 6-0. Looking like the Kings will lose 3-1.

You have to think that between the embarrassment CBJ were handed last night, and their previous win over us, they're probably feeling pretty motivated and loose tonight. Will we be rusty or rested? I'm thinking we squeak out a 2-1 win on the back of Quick.

But in all seriousness, is anyone else sick of "The Kings will lose tonight" or "Here comes the meltdown" or "Kings are going to blow this 3rd period" kind of posts?

It's one thing to criticize this team but some of this stuff is just narcissistic.

Oh well, I guess posts like mine here are just a broken record at this point.

You're not alone. I'm really sick of it as well and the same people keep doing it. That dude you responded to has been making of habit of saying the Kings will lose before the game even starts. He did it before the last game too and look how that turned out.

It's one thing to criticize the team when they are in the middle of a crappy game, but saying it before the game even starts is just ridiculous.

This is the 7th place LA Kings, not the Edmonton Oilers we're talking about here. If you derive most of your joy from hoping you're right about a prediction that they lose, why are you even a fan of the team?

Yeah we got it dude. Kings suck. I'm not really sure why you would want to stick around for the carnage to come.

I'm not sure what some of you expect from this team. There are only 4, MAYBE 5 elite teams in this league and guess what? You don't NEED to be one of them to win a championship.

I hope Westy plays. Just in case things get a little chippy.
This. Wasn't he plus 2 in the last game he dressed in as well?

I still think this guy can be a player in this league, just needs keep himself from getting into situations where he's forced to take a penalty. He's never going to be the fastest skater on the ice, but his hands don't seem to be too stone-like.

I'll take Clifford-Fraser-Westgarth over any combination with Hunter.
