All this proves is that most of us are lie, or aren't very realistic.

I would choose Edmonton for their future. Tampa Bay seems to be a nice place for being a hockey player. Chicago too!

Boston for destroying players!

If I had millions of dollars, I don't know how I'd feel spending it in Montreal. I've lived here all my life, so getting a house in Westmount or Dix 30 would be cool, but it wouldn't excite me as much as living in LA, New York, or something. Obviously I would love to play for the Canadiens, but if I could have a second choice, it would be to either whoever could win the stanley cup, or wherever had the nicest living conditions.

Just a thought, I wonder how Quebecois players feel the first time they skate against MTL. For me it would feel weird trying to make the Habs lose. At least the first time. Or playing at the Bell at home, but it not being your home.

I'm a guy that thrives under pressure and the idea of dealing with the media sounds like an interesting challenge. There is no way I would want to play in a small market (if I had a choice) since one of the things I like the most about pro sports are intense crowds.

Plus, I'm a proud Montrealer. It would be an honor to represent my city. A city I like so much.

As for the taxes... If I'm a hockey player, I'm already making millions, which ensures me a more than wealthy lifestyle. Of course saving a million or two in tax cuts somewhere else is nothing to sneeze at, but it's really not that big of a deal at the end of the day, at least in my opinion.

I would play for any team in the nhl
but my preferences are: MTL,TOR,DET,BOS,NY
If i was a player, i would take into consideration the coach a lot, playing for coaches like laviolette, babcock,trotz... is really exceptional.

While Mtl is my first choice I would take any Canadian team over playing in the US. If it came down to choosing between Florida and Winnipeg I'd be a Jet.

Although if I did end up in Montreal I'd probably make it a point not to learn French, that way I'd it would be easier to ignore any crap being spewed out by the media since I'd only understand half of it to begin with.

Definitely wouldn't be my first choice of places to play. I'm a diehard fan but I don't think I'd be a fan of dealing with our clowns in the media all the time. Would also be nice to go out in public now and again without getting bugged all the time for pics and autographs. I just don't think I'd like to play for a high profile team at all. Give me Phoenix, Anaheim or Florida....somewhere like that. I wouldn't mind fans recognizing me just not constantly. I'm kind of a shy dude.

No.

I'd be a goalie so I could get a shut-out every night and still be criticized.
I know the team is handicapped because of having to appease archaic-political ideals.

What's wrong with Toronto and NYC? They're great cities. New York is still one of the top-5 cities in the world. So many things to do, so many things to see.

Detroit is another story.

Hell yeah. The Canadiens are the only franchise that means something to me in the NHL, and, aside from NYC, there's no city in NA more attractive to me. Add the fact that I'm French, and I want my kids raised in a french, or at least a bilingual environment.

I can't believe some fans vote no, shows who are the true fans.

I would give my left nut to play for the Habs, I love the beach and warm weather as much (or more) as everyone else here, but to play for the team I grew up watching and idolizing would be a dream come true. You retire when your 40, lots of time to spend on the beach then.

Just because you dreamed (still dream?) about playing for the habs doesn't make you a bigger fan lol. i didn't have that dream, because well i wasn't in this country and didn't know what hockey was. Sue me.

It has nothing to do with being a fan.

I obv don't still dream of it, but as a 10 year old I couldn't think of anything better than suiting up for the Habs.

I am fortunate to go to 2-5 games a year, being from the Maritimes, I don't get to see much NHL talent live. Pro hockey is the absolute best, and to play for the team I love would be amazing, media and taxes be dammed.
