This.

That's my take. Core is safe, any players picked up will be to bump depth down a step, ie 3rd pairing D or a 4th winger

Edler Salo
Hamhuis Bieksa
Ballard (New D)
Rome (Tanev slots in here or 3rd pair)
Alberts Sulzer

I can see Alberts Sulzer as movable on that chart as they aren't really core players, just spares. Probably won't see Rome moved as AV would have a breakdown.

Being realistic, unless you can trade him to upgrade Higgins spot on 2nd line RW with a more natural RW, I don't see him being moved. His total #s are down from that 25g/53p season, but his ES scoring is up (even for a small sample size), and playing almost no PP time relative to last couple of seasons. I don't see how adding a defensive forward with size in place of Raymond helps this team.

Upgrading the 2nd line and shifting Higgins down to 3rd line left side, or adding a replacement for Weise makes sense, but given the type of minutes the 3rd line is getting, Raymond is a good fit there.

ship raymond for some big bodied winger. steve downie type player. who is willing to come at the opposition's defense to "soften them up" so hansen/hodgson can have space to score.

The rest of the guys would be sad as well, as they all love Romer.

Downie is 5'11 190lbs. Not quite the "big body". He's a gamer though.

I'd prefer someone else honestly. I don't see much in Downie besides PIM's.

I'd love to have Parise on this team.
