Just a thought on the 1.8 second problem...

They always stop the clock at 1.8 seconds to stop intermission time, right before some periods...like the 2nd and 3rd. So that the horn doesn't sound.

I am now wondering if the clock has some kind of memory where it sticks there.

Just a thought.

You are not following protocol. You can only mention Jack Johnson when he has a crappy game, which hasn't happened much this season...

2pts is 2pts! Columbus gave up a goal to Penner anyway. That should never happen.

The funny part is that the Kings scored two goals against the Senators right after the 2nd period end and end of game horn..

What a dramatic finish! We didn't play great, and I hope it's because of the long break. But we got the two points, and got a huge bounce in our favor for once. Speaking of getting the bounce...

Reading the main boards on the clock thing is making my head hurt. I don't think people realize how inexact the clock is during a game. Seconds are lost and gained throughout the course of the game (watch how much time runs down after a whistle and you'll see what I mean). Yes, it really sucks for Columbus to lose like that, but to suggest that it was on purpose or that we somehow owe the league or the Blue Jackets something is insane.

The reporting error is even more egregious because the referee in question was Steven Walkom. He's the most emphatic "pointer" of any official in the league. Always has been. He emphatically points to the net signifying a goal, and then emphatically points to who scored it. Every time. There's nothing even remotely ambiguous about the goal call.

It was called a good goal on the ice, which of course is completely irrelevant to the game clock controversy, since that is reviewable. I just love irrelevant blog article tangents.

FWIW, the original Puck Daddy, Greg Wyshinski, did not write that article. Harrison Mooney did. He is one of the guest bloggers who along with Ryan Lambert are nowhere near the same league in terms of quality content as Greg.

Kings don't want the show run like a real talk show. Problem is, Nick & Daryl take it too seriously...there's only been one entertaining show on the air that I ever heard with no call screener and that was Mr. KABCs (Marc Germain) show. But Marc didn't take it seriously if a know nothing wack job called in. So they either need a call screener or they need Nick & Daryl to develop a sense of humor with the callers (not likely)

I agree that the only issue in that sequence was the time stoppage and got annoyed at misrepresenting obvious facts ie. clear call on ice was a goal.

Yeah Greg is better but I am not exactly a fan of his egocentric show where he's always right about everything but that's a discussion for another time.

^^^^ this!

What is going on with Kopitar and Richards? Goals anyone?

I am getting that awkward feeling again that Quick seems to think he has to get a shutout every game, just to have a chance to win. He was scrambling several times last night.

I think it's funny how the Kings are suddenly the bad guys. Almost like every seems to think they knew this would happen.

I honestly don't care how the puck goes in the net or how we get the goals. It's a race to make the playoffs and we need every point possible.

Half glass empty? Enjoy, we won. Hand it to Columbus after getting down 1-0 they really picked up their play. They were embarrassed the night before so the effort was there. We just have to concede the fact that regardless who we play the offense is bad so were not going to score more than 3 goals most nights.

This. When people finally realize that this kings team is not one of the elite contenders the more they will enjoy the games. Columbus got SPANKED against SJ. It would have been very easy for the Kings coming off an eight day layover to lose. They didn't, got 2 points and start a very important road trip.

It's also asinine to ask for the the game to be replayed or to pick it up in overtime. If they did this for every malfunction or bad call half the games in the NHL would have to be replayed. Kings got a gift with the clock, but they've also been the victim of things as well. It all evens out....

Nice to see Doughty starting to come around offensively, he now has 2g, 14a, +7 in his last 21gp. That pace would have gotten him 8g, 55a, +27 over the full season.

I missed the second two periods, for once I fell asleep early, but good that the Kings got the two points, that's the important part. I don't read to much into the score, other wise we could say MTL >>>> DET since they just smacked them 7-2, right? Things happen night to night, the 2 points are what is important.
