Keenan anyone?

Since everyone has been calling for Lewis's head and want him fired, anyone see Keenan as a possible alternative? I don't know too much of his history but is there a chance?

Pretty much no chance in hell JMHO. He and Hull and Shanny and just about every other vet on the team has a "history" with him. Ofcourse that might not be such a bad thing either.

He wanted to trade Hull after Hull almost single-handedly made St. Louis a successful franchise.
I think he was the one that traded Shanahan off for Pronger.
Joe kocur played for him in NY in 94.
He was Chelios' coach in Chicago as did Dom Hasek.

You know it is to bad that he has had some many problems because right now he is the EXACT type of coach that this teams needs considering that Scotty isn't going to come out of retirement. No one would be lolly gagging around with him behind the bench and we would also get a tougher team real quick.

I am not so sure about Robinson, I think that we need someone that is willing to put foot to ass when things are not going right. We already ready have Robinson lite in the form of Lewis.

Keenan also cut Yzerman from a couple of Canada Cup teams. I don't have a problem with Iron Mike, but I think he'd just end up being another distraction.

It'd be easier to go with Kevin Constantine. Same type of play, but with far less drama.

Considering his past performances and the history he has with some of the guys, this is not the place for Keenan...I see him in either Washington or San Jose...something tells me he's bound to wind up in one of those two places...I'm leaning towards Washington, because something tells me Cassidy isn't going to last much longer.

Maybe it's just me...

He traded:
Shanahan
joseph
chase

ALong with anyone else who was a fan favorite. And he felt it was necessary to bench hull every once in a while. Dont forget he dismantled Stl, and Van singlehandedly before getting fired robbing us of young talent. Not to mention he traded for gretzky, just to turn around and chase him out of town with his antics.

Believe me you dont want him.

There was a rumour during the Rangers' cup run in 94 that Keenan was going to leave them for Detroit.

Yzerman and Hull both have had bad experiences with Keenan.
Keenan invited Yzerman out for the World Cup team and then cut him, to the diomay of Yzerman and hockey fans all over Canada.
Hull has his own issues dating back to the St. Louis days.

I believe he was also the one who demoted Brett Hull from captain in St. Louis.
