There's a better chance he's not on the team than he is captain of the team.

I think Backes has a really good shot at Captain for Team USA.

Disagree on that one Singin. The Americans are not so deep that a player like Callahan, who can play in all situations and provide leadership to boot. are a dime a dozen.

I think he's saying that its just very unlikely Callahan is going to be captain.

We were talking about this awhile ago on the main boards.. but with Parise, Brown and Suter both coming off of wearing an A in 2010, you'd figure one of them would be given the 'promotion'.

Would think Parise is front runner to get the 'C'.

my money is definitely on parise to get the C in sochi. i wouldn't be shocked if callahan got an A though. i would love it if the staff gave backes a letter too.

I think they are deep enough that the captain won't be Callahan. I'm sure he won't mind much since he's definitely going to have an A since Torts should be an assistant again (he will still get an A without Torts' help). But the question for me is, what if Tortorella is the HC? Will Burke step in to decide captaincy because it will be more fair?

As I read it, Singin' said there's a better chance Callahan is not on the team (which I disagree with) than him being named captain (which I didn't say anything about). Personally, I think Callahan is a no-brainer to be named to the Olympic team--can play in every situation and on any line.

My comment was more regarding his chances of being the Team USA captain.

What do you mean I'm a geek? Like the way I bring up stats? Geeky in what way? Geeky like a nerd? Or what?

This is the only time in my life I've ever seriously thought the Rangers were a cup contender. I was only 7 in 94.

Same here. I was born exactly 9 months after the Rangers won the Cup. I guess my parents were already Rangers fans back then.

Stepan will be on the squad, methinks. I'm trying to think who our guy was who wore the 'C' at the Vancouver Games. Oh, wait...it was Langenbrunner.

I got this shirt a few months ago and I wanted to wear it under my jersey at games instead of the Light That Dubi shirt but since I'm 6-0-0 with the Dubi shirt, I didn't wear it yet.
