I really respect Danny Dubé and his insights on the Habs. In his daily comment yesterday, he really took Lars Eller to task. He singled out his selfishness and immaturity in that he blatantly refused to pass the puck to AK on numerous occasions causing offsides and turnovers.

Usually, Dubé's comments are bang on and I was surprised. He's adament that AK should play with Plekanec to form a better scoring second line.

I've always liked AK and Eller together but maybe Dube's right that the chemistry isn't as good as I thought it was. Either way, Gomez has to be removed as a right winger on the 2nd line and Blunden really isn't a 3rd line player, although I'd like to see him with White on the 4th line.
It's a good observation and its true. They do have chemistry but like Dube said, there is still immaturity.

I notice Elller barely ever passes on a 2 on 1 either it seems.

I thought Eller was a passer and playmaker who had to work on his shot when he first came into the league but it looks like he is shoot first kind of guy right now.

Like.... What kind of ****ing fourth line is this? Disgusting putting AK in there.
And it's impossible not to laugh at that 3rd line. Wow

No chance Cunneyworth become Habs coach at the end of season. What a ****er, he is just shuffleling names in a hat to build his lines...the OBVIOUS choice was to put Leblanc instead of Gomez, Gomez as the 4th line center with Darche and Blunden, leaving Eller with AKost and White/Moen/Weber whoever is healthy. FU Cunneyworth

Really showcasing AK for a trade! His value will skyrocket after this demotion... Blunden and Darche ahead on the depth chart. RC really is a JM unilingual clone.

Well he use to try for the passes all the time so people take it away from him. Even earlier this year people were saying he wasnt shooting enough. He just needs to find some balance.

That line up is stupid but it gives a chance to see LL as a center.

I'll just assume management has told him to tank if he's seriously thinking about those lines

Maybe they want to try and bring Darche's value up with the trade deadline approaching

Hey guys. Wishing you good luck tonight... even though it seems most of you want to lose haha. Don't do that! We didn't "Lose for Larsson" and actually tried to make the playoffs then got Larsson anyway... So keep your head up!

The Devils lines tonight are :

Parise-Zubrus-Kovalchuk
Sykora-Elias-Clarkson
Ponikarovsky-Carter-Bernier
Boulton-Josefson-Mills

Volchenkov-Larsson
Greene-Fayne
Foster-Salvador
Taormina

Brodeur in net
Hedberg

Henrique is still out with groin issues, will practice tomorrow it seems
Zajac still not skating. Trying to get clearance from Winnipeg surgeon that did the surgery

Salvador is nursing something so he might not play, Taormina would take his place. The Devils are also thinking about playing seven defensemen... in that case Mills would sit.

Can't wait to get to the arena... love it when Habs fans are in town.

Quite possible. Darche does have 2 goals in almost 600 minutes of ice time this year and he does have an assist in his last 13 games so he should be able to spark the 3rd line. PG is hoping for 3 round pick for Darche. He should hold out for a 2nd after Darche lights it up.

Darche is PG type of guy, if PG is still GM not only will Darche be re-signed but he will also get a raise

How does every single coach we hire do the exact same thing with the lines.

I don't know but they were all defensive minded. Imagine we hire Guy Boucher, Darche would probably be on the top line

The last time the Habs played the Devils, snipes Darche had 19:46 of ice time. The only forward to get more ice time than snipes Darche was Plekanec. I believe that was Cunneyworth's first game as the coach. He must see something special in snipes Darche against these Devils. Granted, the Habs lost that game but snipes Darche did have two shots in his 19:46 of ice time. They must have been very good heavy shots. Snipes Darche is the key and, along with Blunden, should provide the offensive talent to get Eller going. If PG can get a 2nd round pick for him, he should trade Snipes at the deadline. He can always resign him during the summer but it'll cost him.

It's all a question of perspective... Others might ask instead why Gomez isn't centering the first line and DD not taking his spot on the second line.

Only ******** people would ask that question, regardless of their perspective.

I doubt AK-LL-YW plays more than a couple shifts as a unit. This looks to me like a 3 line situation, where Kostitsyn and Leblanc sub in all over the place.

I don't know if I should feel bad for AK or Eller. AK have shown he can produce on any lines and when he's getting punished, he always come back strong, even on the fourth line but Eller... poor kid.

Can RC put Bourque-Plekanec-AK just to see how it works? Bourque-Plek-Gomez is terrible, not creating anything offensively.

I am getting very pissed with have a dman on the 4th line. We need a "4TH LINE". Its not that hard to put one together.

If your going to have Weber on the 4th line. Deal the guy. It doesn't make sense.

Call up Palushaj put him in a scoring position. Leave Engqvist down and also keep Leblanc up.

Pacioretty Desharnias Cole
Bourque Plekanec Palushaj
Kostitsyn Eller Leblanc
Blunden Gomez White

Gorges Subban
Emelin Kaberle
Diaz Mitera <- call up bring some size to the backend.

Gomez is more likely to be sent down or bought out for sure. I don't see how he can be kept up in the NHL anymore. Its just seems like his talent is gone and his puck movement is the only thing he has left.

Moen, Campoli, and Gill are likely gone for sure. We will want to get pieces back for these guys as we are probably not making the playoffs.
