Pretty damn well. He was a well deserving all-star this year, and is one of the more exciting players in the league.

Finally wrote some thoughts on Scapegoat Numero Uno, Marek Zidlicky.

Short story: Not surprised to see someone finally lash out given the number of veterans who have been scratched. However, despite the poor play throughout the defense and the worst collapse in Wild history Zidlicky's still the story. At this point it doesn't matter what he does on or off the ice, he will be the scapegoat for all the defensive problems regardless of whether or not he should.

i cannot speak for anyone but myself, but I've never considered him the reason we're losing. As far as scapegoating--while ire is usually poured on some undeserving sot (Skoula, Staubitz, Nystrom, Simon, Boogaard, etc) it's rarely focused on the people it should be focused on: the guys making the big money. This year there's been a little progress made in that Schultz and Zid are getting kicked around. You make more money, you deserve more ridicule if you're not playing at least on par with the minimum wagers. We know he can be better. I didn't like the re-signing in the first place but I can see why we did it--Zid has a record of producing points. Now he's not. I don't see that focus on him is unjust given his level of performance, his paycheck, and his lack of discretion.

No from me. Harding is worth more than that and he's an UFA at the end of this season. No reason for us to trade one UFA for another.

How much can we realistically get for Zids ? I think a 2nd would be great, hes a vet PMD, someone would pay that price.

all depends on when we trade him, the sooner it gets to the deadline the better the deal, but i'm not sure we can wait that long tho.

i think in the next week he'll be gone for a b prospect or a 2nd

Same number as the Wild, Jets, Blue Jackets, Coyotes, Blues, Kings, Ducks, Panthers, Maple Leafs, Stars, and a few other teams I'm missing.

Zids isn't a deadline deal type player. We probably won't get much of a return for him since teams are aware our hand is somewhat forced, and they have to have his $4MM salary next season too.

And yet, who has drafted in the top 10 constantly?

Tavares hasn't changed the organization around at all for the Islanders. He might be a good player but he's the lone player they have.

Jets haven't had a 1st overall pick yet.

Yotes are a strong team.

Blues have battled injuries.

Kings manage to just finish outside the playoffs.

Ducks have won a Stanley Cup and have been to the playoffs.

Panthers are the Blue Jackets of the East.

Maple Leafs meh.

Stars have been out of the playoffs but they have had ownership issue and have at least finished above 5th once since then

Yikes. To quote him, "I don't think I can change something when you are like 34 years old." And now he's 35. Just got that much tougher!

Yeo's plan of avoiding any confrontation with Zid after deciding to scratch him against the Stars.......

Yeo: Happy Birthday, Zid. How old are you today?
Zid: 35
Yeo: Wow! That's reason to celebrate. Got any plans for tonight?
Zid: Just a nice dinner and then crashing. Gotta be rested for Dallas tomorrow.

**Yeo puts his arm around Zid**

Yeo: Zid, how many times do you turn 35? It's a milestone! You're halfway to 70 man!
Zid: Huh?
Yeo: You need to go out tonight. Have some drinks. Do a little dancing. Have some more drinks. Sing some karaoke. Have 5 more drinks. And I better not find out that you came back to the hotel any earlier than 4am.
Zid: But....huh?
Yeo: I know...I know. You don't want to party alone. Which is why I'm sending Seto with ya. If there's anyone who knows how to stay out late and have some fun, it's Seto. Now, here's a $1000 from me and your teammates. We want you to have a great time!!!

**Next morning, Zid is hungover and missing from the team meeting. Certainly one must pay for breaking the team rules, eh?**

Mission accomplished.

I would hold out for the right price. He's a vet PMD, someone will pay up, until then we can bench him.

I think we'll see him moved, but I don't know about the value. All it takes is one team to think they need a PMD and will pay a high price.

I'm a huge fan of the Islanders, they have a great up and coming team. There ownership has made some mistakes in the past but I see them in a better position than the Wild moving forward. As of right now they are easily the more exciting team to watch. Tavares is a superstar he coming out this year and will only continue to improve in the coming years.

Don't forget about Matt Moulson whos in his third year and is easily going to reach the 30 goal mark for the 3rd time and is almost at a PPG pace. PA Parenteau is a good playmaker and can score, almost a PPG pace. Then there is Mark Streit a great D thats having a decent year after being injured all of last year.

And don't forget about some of their prospects like Niederreiter, Kabanov, Strome, Anders Lee, Okposo, Grabner.

This, once that team develops they will he scary, Tavares is carrying that team right now, hes a force with little support, I still think Moulson and Parenteau are overrated.

Since when is Zidlicky a Puck Moving Defenseman?

/facepalm

The only way he knows how to move the puck is to shoot it along the glass...

/facepalm

His outlet passes are (almost) always off target?

/facepalm

Hell, Kaberle is a PMD and Zidlicky is NO Kaberle...

/facepalm

Yes. I consider Kaberle a better player the Zidlicky...

You know what? We have the cap space. Why not scratch Zidlicky every night?

He's pretty much killed any trade value he has.
