Yeah, 2012 is weaker than 2013. But I believe people are underestimating this year which is good for us.....IF Gauthier realizes it....

That's why , they would take Price already developed ,they need a goalie now.
Instant buzz in Columbus

Bluejacket fans seen too many 1st rounders with promise...
I love the constant wikipedia references... lol

Did you mention in another post '' Huet '' as possible back-up ?

Ha... where is that man hiding anyways.

I hope not. He's our captain, a hard worker and overall his plays been pretty good since joining the habs. Nothing wrong with his contract either.

In 2014 we go hard after

King Henrik Lundqvist,6-7 year deal.

MA Fluery is Ufa
Never going to happen. Do you understand? You name Price the face of the franchise, then you trade him for an unknown. What does that say about the state of the franchise? We already have a bad enough reputation in the league as it is, idiot trades like this would bring us below the Islanders. Just ask them about drafting high, and I do mean high.

How weak is he this year?
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=1591

Your telling me he couldn't back up Tomas Vokoun for a season in Montreal?

Then in 2014 we go for a long term goalie(Henrik Lundqvist, Halak , Miller)

Henrik Lundqvist at 31 in 2014 on a 6 yr deal, is a down grade to Price?

Again ,go look back on cup winning goalies for example the team they won the cup with ,didn't draft them .

Thomas
Belfour
Niemi
Jean-Sébastien Giguère
Nikolai Khabibulin

acquiring both 1st and 2nd in this year draft is a RETOOL...not a rebuild

From Elliotte Friedman's 30 Thoughts (http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/opin...houghts.html):

28.Montreal has the number one penalty kill in the NHL. UFAs Hal Gill and Travis Moen are first and fourth on the team in shorthanded minutes per game. Those players have value for that reason.

All of those goalies will get resigned by their respective teams ! And we are not winning the cup next year so why should we bring in Vokoun ?

Arguing with Habaneros is futile. The guy is do out of the box it's unconscionable.

I have him blocked but people keep quoting his ridiculous posts for some reason.

Please stop quoting him. It's driving me nuts seeing his comments

Ask the Blackhawks if they couldn't use a rock steady stanley cup winning dman after the beating they just took yesterday.

Yes , when i went back in HF post to early 2000's to 2004 ,the same Disneyland fans, wouldn't trade Theodore for Ilya Kovalchuk......why? cause you don't trade top 5 nhl goalies....

So Disneyland fans keep on and ended up with

2006/03/08 Montreal Canadiens traded Jose Theodore to the Colorado Avalanche for David Aebischer.

So Ilya Kovalchuk? or David Aebischer?

Again, First overall, Brassard, a roster player , plus a pick or player, you pull the trigger now IF you want a contender for next 10 years.

You want to keep spinning tires? then don't

offseason start new.
Brilliant idea, then make Peter Budaj the starting goalie. What purpose would this serve at all? By the look of this season we won't finish far from columbus. This deal would make absolutly no sense. NEVER trade Price

There aren't a lot player traded that fetched a 1st round pick. But looking at this, we might probably get a 2nd rounder for Gill.
The action heated up last year during the 2nd week of February. Get ready...

If he was going to move that 1st it would have been gone by now. Gauthier doesn't make idiotic trades gainey filled that quota for many years to come.

does this year really matter now?

I mean they could call up the AHL Goalie guy , it's over.

You want a real cup CONTENDER for next 10 years?

You trade Price for first over all in 2012.

You want more of this last 9 years under Gainey?Keep Price.

Flyers traded Carter and Richards, world end?
I don't see them in last place, you think we had injury problems?

Ufa
Huet be a nice back up .
Martin Biron a nice back up

2014 UFA targets

Lundqvist
Miller
Halak

I would take Miller in 2 seconds... over Price .... come on there all the same ..These are not the patrick Roy days every goalie is qualified,

I didn't say other teams aren't stupid and will do deals look at the retards in Philly overpaying their goalie. I would trade Price for the Blue jackets pick in a heartbeat you have to be a complete imbecile not to. Price is a good goalie thats it thats all he's not the greatest thing in the nets by far.
