According to Mike Chambers, Barrie has been called up, but Elliott has been reassigned:

Makes sense, Elliott seems to be out of his league and needs time to get better in the D zone.

Not surprising news, but I did have my hopes set on a trade. That's ok- I am looking forward to seeing Elliott back up here next season and am thrilled to see what AHL All-Star Barrie can do for the team.

Congrats to Barrie he DESERVES this call up. Elliott is going to be a good one but needs more seasoning. I hope Barrie can play today

That is good news. I think Gaunce should be given a shot as well.

Looking forward to seeing what Barrie can do.

Me too. I think this call-up will spark the team (well, once Barrie is in the line-up).

Same. I think that Barrie's game transfers to the pro game better and he is the more all around defenseman. Elliott will be good but he is more of a dynamic offensive defenseman that needs time to figure out what works and what doesn't.

I've seen Barrie live only once in Buffalo during the gold medal game for the world juniors. I thought he was one of if not Canada's best defender that night.

This move is a couple weeks late but it's at least the right one. Elliott got a taste of the NHL, did some nice things and some not so nice things, he knows what he needs to improve on for next season.

Barrie's been real good in Lake Erie. Lets see what he can do.

Here comes who I predict will be the best prospect of them all. Let's hope he becomes Dan Boyle v2.

Barrie has now officially become my favorite prospect because of you. Boyle is my hands down favorite guy in the NHL not on the Avs. ...just as long as he does not make a habit of scoring on his own team, haha.

Barrie used to play on my buddy's line (he used to be a F apparently) for like 3 years, so he's my favorite prospect as well haha

Elliott got (I think) 30 games. If Barrie sticks he'll get 28 games. I wonder if they're giving them tryouts to see who they'll keep after this season.

Barrie Q & A on the Avs website

If you could describe Gabriel Landeskog in two words, what would they be?
Average beauty.

haha.

Hoping he has a good game against the Hawks tomorrow.

This is not how pro teams conduct business.

Both guys will fight for a spot next camp and logically, both could stick.

I am too, I've said for a while that I think Barrie will be the better of the two in the long run. I think he is less afraid of the physical game which will help him to become a better all around defender. Elliott may become better (more dynamic) offensively in the long run though.

There was also this....

Music artist/band that you like but will never admit?
The Biebs [Justin Bieber]. He's got swag. **Landeskog and O'Reilly look on with amusement, before Ryan adds "He's my boy," in reference to Justin Bieber.**

Duchene being a big fan of Taylor Swift doesn't seem so bad right now.

Unless one of them gets traded, which is what I was talking about.
