Ex-Leaf Tomas Kaberle now Montreal's problem superthread

Wow. i just watched Kaberle be the cause of 2 of 3 Washington goals this afternoon. Yeah he might get over 30 points this season, but he's also on pace to be -20.

I don't know what to say about him now, but i was never a big fan when he was a Leaf.

His defensive gaffs and lack of heart/hustle must sting for the Habs' management. Especially his cap hit of 4 million this season, 4.25 next, and then 4.5 in 2013/2014.

Do you think he will retire at the end of this season or will he finish the remander of his contract in Montreal?

What do you have to say about Kaberle now that he is a underachieving Habitant.

"Superthread"?? lol

Kaberle has lost about 2-3 steps since he first broke into the league. He used to be able to use his speed to cover up his defensive gaffs but not anymore.

I will always support Kaberle on what ever team he goes to!! I won't stop supporting him after he's been on the Leafs for 13 years.

Do the Habs now have enough for the equivalent of a "Muskoka 5"?

So sad to see this happen to Kaberle after some great leaf memories.

He probably lost the drive to play hard - and really I don't blame him - not only does he have a Cup Ring and has been an NHL all star, he clearly misses playing for the greatest NHL team.

And I'm certain Burke appreciates that Fletcher managed to draft Kaberle so late in the 8th Round back in 1996.

"shoot"

Agreed, Guy has great skill and vision, I feel like his body is starting to wear down... Had one of the best stretch passes in the game for a long time. Him and Sundin were two of my favourite Leafs for a long time .

Wanted Vancouver to win the cup, but when Boston won it I was happy Kaberle had got a cup. The guy just seems like such a nice guy, and he was never as bad as people on the boards say he was... His defensive play was alright, he just didn`t do a lot of checking... good stick work.

His cap hit doesn't change, just his pay. Kaberle sucks and you should hear what the people I live with (hab fans) say about him on the powerplay. When he was doing a shootout one said "oh great, all he's going to do is pass it"

He's been doing fine in Montreal. 13 pts in 23 games. He was a -12 in 29 games with Carolina, but is a -2 in Montreal.

Then a month from now he will bump it for an equally pointless reason.

Kaberle has never been the same since Cam Janssen's late hit.

if he retires at the end of this season he leaves $8.75 million on the table... don't see it happening

He was one of my fave Leafs for years but he has drastically declined. He should never have gotten that contract from Rutherford in the offseason I don't know what he was thinking.

Kaberle seems to be resting on his laurels and I think we totally robbed Boston by getting Colborne, Biggs and essentially Liles for a washed up Kaberle who is now overpaid and overrated.

Kaberle was a great member of this team for years. Let's move on.

We don't need a "Kaberle sucks with this team now" thread.

Closed.
