Detroit has lost to Columbus. The Blackhawks just got obliterated by Edmonton. Those teams should sell off all their players too. Columbus just took the Kings to overtime, with the exception of the Kings stadium clock and the league review being bush league.

They were never going to win all of them. Yeah it's crappy they lost but they still aren't eliminated. They dominated the game and couldn't score, got beat on some bad breakdowns. They never quit.

In Anaheim? Absolutely. He's been the team's most consistent defenseman throughout the season. The guy just absorbs big minutes, and gives you the same level of play every game. He'll give you some ugly turnovers, but the rest of his game is pretty rock solid. There aren't many peaks and valleys to his game.

The top, yes. He's dramatically cut down on his giveaways recently as well.

That's what I meant. 1 and 5 against the Sharks or Canucks is decent. 1 and 5 against the Jackets, especially in this game where they looked extra terrible, is infuriating.

Yeah, that's pretty bleh. I mean, the BJ's are giving up 1 goal every 4 PP's they need to kill. That is an ugly statistic. To get 5 opportunities against that team, and to only get 1 goal... that really shouldn't happen.

Absolutely, he's been outstanding this season, he's amongst the best in the NHL in his own end. His only weaknesses are that he's prone to brutal giveaways and he's limited offensively.

They got outplayed by the team taking up 30th place who played last night.

They never quit? The quit playing hard after the first period.

Which means, with 5PP, the Ducks only had a 25% chance of getting 2 goals. Again, it's statistically what you'd expect. Especially as the Ducks PP is actually scoring about 1/6 of the time.

I'd put him in the tier below the very top. At least if we're looking at his play this season. In the past, he could get caught running around a bit, or looking too hard for the big hit and end up out of position. He's mellowed out, and matured his game. Those types of mistakes are a lot fewer than they were in the past.

They put up 23 shots in the 2nd and 3rd and were carrying the play in OT with the exception of the 2 breakaways. They outshot the Bluejackets 35-21. And Columbus played Wednesday, not yesterday, and came in with a huge chip on their shoulder because of getting jobbed by the Kings' clock and the league review.

They got beaten on defensive breakdowns. They didn't get outplayed.

Every real center was over 50% faceoffs tonight.

Koivu 13-2
Getzlaf 10-9
Bonino 7-5
Pelley 3-1
Coglino 1-0

Perry 0-1
Selanne 1-5

So when we outshoot its hard work and when we get outshot its the other team threw everything at the net right?

Sick of seeing all the fancy plays, Ryan must of had at least 3 chances to shoot but instead goes for the tap in pass, just shoot the ****ing puck.

Also I thought Ducks were outplayed for a fair amount of the game despite the shot totals, poor Jonas, defence was MIA.

Well that was embarassing. Great work from the Golden Boy Fowler with another GWT (Game winning turnover). Despite being drunk that was not good. Need to be better than that. A good effort against the worst team in the NHL doesnt cut it, that was a must win.

It's possible to outplay a team and still lose. The game vs Ottawa was being outplayed and winning. The Ducks were clearly the better team tonight. If you feel that Columbus carried the play and dominated offensive zone time for the entire game feel free to disagree.

You don't deserve to go to the playoffs when you are lose to a team like Columbus.

this was a symbolic loss. We have no ****ing chance now.

the only decent thing to come out of this season should be winning the draft lottery and drafting Nail ... first line LW problem, solved.

also, defensive breakdowns does pretty much mean getting outplayed. Fowler was not good on that OT winner, but you can't pin that all on him, Selanne was a lot more worried about getting the OT game winner and hatrick, and has a bit of a habit of being on the ice when game winners are scored against us.

#CBJ are 10-9-1-2 all-time in Anaheim. Most wins in any building outside Central Division.

If those PP were spaced out a little better those stats would seem to make more sense... but look at last nights game.. The Ducks had 3 PP basically in a row... against the worst PK team in the NHL..

Not sure if this was posted, but I thought it was great!

"...The Ducks’ 1-for-5 performance on the power play in the second period left Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau furious at his top power-play unit.

“I told them, `I don’t know why I’m putting you guys back out there,”’ Boudreau said. “‘I must be a fool for punishment, but you’re the best we have.’ "

Because teams never kill major penalties off either.
