so the score had reports that manny ramirez wanted to come here. dont know how id feel bout that. he would hve a 50 game suspension.
I don't want any part of Manny. No defense, no versatility, just a bat off the bench. If we were talking about the Manny of 6-7 years ago, then maybe, but you're not getting that character guy anymore. He's washed up, and simply hoping for one more contract.
He's also rumored to the O's. Funny enough, the 51st game in the season is a Toronto/Baltimore game. So one way or another, assuming the rumors are right (which they never are), he'll be playing in that game.

Manny 6-7 years ago... MAYBE?!
Manny 2006: 35 Hr's 102 Rbi's .321 Avg.
Sounds EXACTLY like what we need... lets sign him u.... wait a minute.
Manny would be fun for about 5 games before we realized that he's a problem. If he had a 157 game suspension... I'd be all for it.
I don't want Manny now. I believe I already said this, but he can't play D anymore (not that ever could), is still a sideshow, is 38 or 39, sucked in his time with Chicago and Tampa Bay the last couple of stops, and would still have to sit for 50 games before even having a chance of contributing.
That is not the recipe for success.

Maybe they secretly invented time travel and can sign these players as their broken-down selves then replace them with the better versions from 5 years ago.

He wouldn't have to play D, he'd be the DH.
I'm not necessarily for it, but if the Jays do sign him, you gotta believe Farrell plays a HUGE part in it.
