where is Tim Connolly
Has Tim Connolly disappeared or has he been demoted? Don't notice him on the ice. Is he hurt?

You notice him on the ice? Will have to look specifically for him instead of watching the puck

He's playing all right, of course nowhere near what the impact he should have though.
He's not liability and does add some skill to the third line, so I don't mind his role right now.
Same with Lombardi I suppose.

if you look at the start of the year to earlier posts, as a fan base, we weren't expecting much from these two...
Tim Connolly: Gp:40 G:7 A:17 P:24
Lombardi: Gp: 34 G:6 A:5 P: 11
Combined thats GP:74 G: 13 A:22 P: 35
if they finished with a combined 60-70 points i'd be happy i see them as temporary replacements going forward.

Connolly is still on pace for a 49 point season. His production has tapered off but he can be a dangerous play maker for us at times and he knows whats he doing in his own end. I have a feeling he will be big for us in the playoffs. And all it took was money to acquire him. Not the worst signing ever. Can still be a good one.

Connolly has been invisible, which generally happens when you're on a line with Lombardi. Crabb also looks lost, that line needs to be broken up.

Troll or not, this thread isn't entirely inaccurate. I can't remember the last time I saw Connolly make an impact.

Connolly needs to play with either big mucking forecheckers to make room for him or highly skilled scorers. Unfortunately hes stuck with Lombardi.

When he signed with the Leafs?

Might be time to move Armstrong up to the third line, although I'm loving that fourth right now.

I can , in the 1-0 Pittsburgh game he made a crucial stick check infront of the net to prevent a goal.

He got injured twice. And Bozak rejoined the first line and produced so there is no reason to tinker with that line (ignoring how they get hemmed into their own zone and give up goals). MKG is looking strong and so the best spot for Connolly is third. And he will remain there until the Kessel line gets cold or another center gets injured.
Next year will be interesting if Colborne is NHL ready. The leafs will have 4 top 3 centers (assuming grabbo is resigned of course) plus lombardi, steckel.

He's been fine, hard to produce when on the 3rd line with nobody who can snipe.

I think Connolly is playing great. He has had a little bad luck - or playing with guys who aren't up to speed with his creativity - always seems like his passes are just out of reach or not quite picked up clean.
He had a great productive stretch early on.

Making sure the 3rd line isn't a defensive liability. It's working too.

Their combined Cap cost is $4.75 mil + $3.5 mil = $8.25 mil.
You know the kind of player a team can have in its line-up for that amount of cap ??
Only 3 NHL players Crosby, Malkin and Ovechkin have a higher cap hit.
